I will be in New York on March 15th before leaving for Israel on the 16th. I want to see something new and different, preferably "the next big show". For the past 2 years I had a chance to see something new but went to an older show instead and then the new show won the Tony for best musical and now I can't get tickets. I am no stranger to RUSH,Lotteries, or even SRO's. So I guess my question is what is the next big show? Who do you think will win the Tony this year?

Passing Strange sounds like a good candidate for NEW. I Really liked In the Heights. Old style but something that may get a lot of Tony attention would be A Cattered Affair- They should be in previews by then.

Catered Affair will be in previews the next week. Passing Strange sounds like my style. My favorite show ever is RENT and this sounds similar but different. I never did get to see Spring Awakening do you think it will be around for a while? Also is Passing Strange at TKTS?

If you want something new and awesome, see August:Osage County or In The Heights.

Well if you haven't seen Spring Awakening, I'd say see it now while its still fresh and has some of the original cast because its truly making Broadway history.

As for the Tony this year -- August is the favorite for best play, best musical is anyone's guess (Xanadu, A Catered Affair, Cry-Baby, In the Heights, Passing Strange, Little Mermaid.) But like last year, this year's musicals may end up being characterized as a season of tepid hits.

Spring Awakening or In The Heights. Have a great time!
