Hello everyone!
It is time for my annual trip to NYC and I'm looking or tips on what to see - especially for new shows, I've seen almost everything that opened before July 2015. My favorite shows are the Book of Mormon, Avenue Q, Something Rotten, Matilda. I already have Hamilton tickets and I'm looking for 2-3 shows to see. I love good old fashioned musicals but anything that is smart and funny works too. If there is a good play around, I'd consider it too.
Thank you so much for your help!

If you like good, old-fashioned musicals, I recommend She Loves Me or Bright Star.

If you love good, old-fashioned musicals, don't miss She Loves Me.

I am absolutely in love with Fun Home! It's a tragedy but it's also very funny.

Maybe Eclipsed or Blackbird as plays? Or look into Tuck Everlasting and The Crucible as well.

I feel like a broken record from another thread, but if you like old fashioned musicals, you can't really beat the King and I. Why miss essentially the original cast, as well as Kelli O'hara and Ruthie Ann Miles' Tony winning performances?
An American in Paris may also be up your alley for old fashioned.
In addition to some of what's been listed above, I'm seeing the Humans when I visit next month. I'm interested in seeing what people here say about Frank Langella in the Father, and Roundabout's revival of Long Days Journey, when they start previews, but I've noticed the premium seats for both shows have been snatched up at the end of April!

The OP said they already almost everything that opened before last July guys, so I'm assuming they've already seen Fun Home, King&I, American In Paris ect...
While I didn't love School of Rock nearly as much as Matilda it sounds like you might really enjoy it. I would also add Tuck Everlasting to your list.
In terms of good old-fashioned musicals, definitely see She Loves Me, and Daddy Long Legs Off-Broadway. Perhaps Shuffle Along, too? Haven't seen that one yet.
I loved Bright Star when I saw it recently, but it has a very bluegrass/country kinda sound, and I don't know if that's your thing. If yes, definitely see it. It's a laughter through tears kinda story, very emotional but with a lot of comic relive moments in the most beautiful way
