Posted: 11/13/08 at 8:38amAt Bryant Park this summer, Lauren Kennedy performed with two other people (both of whose names I forgot, but one was in High Fidelity) in a musical featuring country songs (and yes, I also forgot the name of it). Anyways, whatever happened with this musical? I was confused at the time because Lauren was going to perform in Vanities, but I wasn't sure if this was something she was going to try to fit in between her Vanities schedule.

Posted: 11/13/08 at 8:42amYou mean Lone Star Love? Are you sure you're not thinking of last year? Cuz that show got cancelled because Randy Quaid (the star) was a bigger ass in that show than Michael Crawford in Dance of the Vampires.

Posted: 11/13/08 at 8:45amI think you might be talking about Pure Country? I think Jeb Brown performed at Broadway in Bryant Park. A different actor performed a song at Broadway on Broadway. It seemed like it was moving forward and having an out of town tryout?

Posted: 11/13/08 at 12:15pmis that the one based on the movie with George Strait? it had two pretty big country songs that have become kinda standards. i remember reading they had signed a soap star as the lead...and i think Pete WHOREHOUSE Masterson was/is attached. The movie was PURE COUNTRY, i think the musical tried HEARTLAND as a title for a while, but may have reverted back to PURE COUNTRY. i don't think LOVE was ever in the title.
Will: They don't give out awards for helping people be gay... unless you count the Tonys.
