Since she sang at Saks I was just wondering if anyone knew when she would be starting since she missed the first week because she was sick? My friend has tickets for later this week and I have mine this weekend. Thanks!

Bought tickets to see Kristen and saw it this past Sunday evening - of course she was still out. It was OK, but I'm a guy. The 95% woman audience seemed to love it and were laughing away during the show. Noticed John Stamos in the audience as it ended, looked like he was waiting to meet one of the performers afterwards (noticed he looks a lot older, but I guess he is actually!). Anyway, a good show, would have likely enjoyed it more if Kristen was in, but the cast was excellent. Probably would have related to it more if I was not a guy though - wife loved the purse part of it.....

Ken, I can understand where you're coming from about not liking this show due to the fact that you're a guy. One of my best friends and his girlfriend, both who love theatre to no end, dragged the boyfriend to see it. He said that he really didn't have a good time there and could tell that there were other men in the same boat as him. Men who were dragged there by their wives, girlfriends etc, and who were just waiting for the show to be done, that way they could get out of there.

Perhaps the show is lacking because it's Nora Ephron. I love the idea of the projects she takes on, but rarely enjoy her finished product (Julie and Julia and When Harry Met Sally notwistanding). But those don't make up for Michael, You've Got Mail, Sleepless in Seattle, Bewitched, Hanging Up, etc....

I actually liked most of those movies.... The play was OK, just not as hilarious to me as it was to those around me. Highly recommended to women though, I think! I was looking forward to seeing Kristin do the part.... It must be me - She was also missing when we went to go see the first rendition of Seth Rudetsky's Broadway 101 at what was then Dodger Stages - she was off doing "Pushing Daisies" and she sent a video instead....

I didn't like the show because of how exclusively upper-class and white it felt when I went to see it. Now, for the record, I grew up in Fairfield County, CT and went to prep school with a whoooole bunch of white people, so being the only black person in the room isn't new or foreign to me...but I still notice.

That being said, I thought it was a little gross that a show like this that could so EASILY have a person of color featured in every cast (Capathia will is/will be in it, yes), it was as lilly white as a Vermont Ski resort after the first snow fall. I was at opening night and I was the only person of color in the building aside from the ticket taker and I was a little uncomfortable. This isn't Ibsen, it isn't...I dont know..other show that takes place where there are no black people...like...IRELAND. This is about women and clothes. Do black women not wear clothes? (Or hispanic, asian, etc) Even the "celebrities" that came (/invited) were just....well, so "grouped". Candice Bergen and Martha Stewart? If thats not catering to a particular audience I don't know what is.

Sadly this country is not nearly as post racial as people think.

And I don't want this to become some big discussion about race but according to the lyricist of Memphis - "everybody wants to be black on a saturday night" -except Tara Rubin Casting, The Ephron chicks, and their company management.

You are right - didn't see any "people of color" there at Sunday night's performance - wasn't particularly looking/noticing but after you brought it up I think you are correct... Audience majority was basically middle to older aged white women....

Capathia was out, they didn't indicate why.... Rhea was pretty good, doesn't look any different than when she was on "Cheers" actually....

The guard/security guy was a little overly inpersonal I thought (urging wife on crutches to move along and basically get out after performance was over - we were waiting until people cleared out to make the crutch trip less dangerous to herself and others), but I guess that's his job....

I saw this show and really enjoyed it. It was clearly intended for women but I have women in my life so I could relate.'

Granted, I was one of the two men in the audience (actually it was Mike Nichols and I) but I didn't need to wear a dress to relate.

"If the show runs Wed-Sun, how is Kristen going to start on Tuesday?Hmmm."

This week there was a Tuesday performance, which was Kristin's first. I would imagine this was to compensate for the lack of performances on Wednesday evening and Thursday.

"Cool! Why haven't they confirmed it here?"

Because not everything is confirmed on here.
