Oh good. I have no money to see repeats of shows, and if he was leaving anytime soon I would have to re-vist POTO.

Also, he came to mind when someone posted about JLT playing Elphaba. He played both Raoul and the Phantom and I think that is awesome. I would love to see him as Raoul. It would make it a heck of alot easier to hate the phantom. :)

Well, he took this entire week off to do the Andrew Lloyd Webber concerts at the Kennedy Center -- but I'm sure he'll be back with bells on. For a very, very, very, very, long time.

are there clips of him singing songs from the show? i have heard so many good things about his Phantom and I saw him a few years back in Martin Guerre and thought he was great... would love to hear him sing some Phantom songs...

I hope he leaves soon so he can go on to another show and originate a role and get the recognition he deserves and possible a Tony nod.

I totally agree that he should win a tony, but i want him to continue as the phantom!

I hope not for a while! He's excellent in the role! Hugh won't be back in POTO until Jan. 17th. So I'm assuming that since they're letting have almost 1 month vacation, he renewed his contract. Or at least that's wishful thinking on my part! :)

But yes! The man deserves a Tony!

Alright. Just talked to John Cudia earlier at the stage door...he mentioned that he (himself) was signed for at least April 30th. But I'm willing to bet he'll continue past then. Updated On: 1/2/05 at 06:44 PM

Phew! Thanks for the info. I don't know why I always love the guys playing Raoul, since his character isn't one of the most developed ones out there, but John made me pay attention to him & care for the character...his voice is sooo so so amazing & just the idea of him having played the Phantom in the past is amazing! I hope I can see it again within the next few months. John & Hugh (with Sandra Joseph, for that matter) made me love the show, hands down. Without an impressive trio in that show, it just doesn't do it for me. Anywho.

It's a shame that an amazing performance like Hugh's in POTO is not eligible for a Tony Award.
He single-handedly brought me to enjoy this show.
If they are smart, they'll keep him for as long as they can!
