Where Is Annie When You Need Her
#0Where Is Annie When You Need Her
Posted: 6/4/03 at 9:05pmIndians used to do rain dances. Maybe if we got Andrea Mc Ardle in her Annie get up on top of the times tower singing "The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow", maybe it would help. Hey we got nothing to lose at this point. I say give it a shot. It was probably one of the most annoying songs ever written & maybe singing it to the rain gods, it might scare them away

What about "A Fella With An Umbrella" from Easter Parade!
"For every fella; each fella with an umbrella...there's a girl; a girl who saved her love for a rainy day."

Posted: 6/5/03 at 3:03pmI believe it was a Broadway show before it was a movie....though it was a show way back when (like the '20's).

I can't find any record of Singin in the Rain coming to the stage. I do know the movie from the 50's was set in the 1920's.
Maybe Singin in the Rain would make an excellent future production. Just think of the stage set up for a dance number with real rain effects! That would be very cool!

Alvin,
it is indeed a stage production. I enjoyed it very much when I saw it. They recently had an Australian tour of Singing In the Rain. I read an interesting article about the challenges of micing a show with rain, and how they solved the water issue by encasing the mic heads in the tips of condoms.
Production right are available through MTI. By the way, MTI's new site design is great!

Maybe you need a new Annie? Maybe Andrea McArdle is tainted from her stint as Sally Bowles? ![]()

To Alvin & Rex
The sun came out today but the rain is back on Saturday We will have no summer & will go right into winter. I feel sorry for those people whose business depends on beach business. They have to be hurting

she was ok, she was too cute, not enough toughness, and she didn't belt! what was that, annie is about a tough orpan with a heart of gold and lungs of steel.
she was cute though
i heard she just came off of being little cossette in Les Miz, yah her voice is perfect for the breathy lullaby, "Castle on a cloud," a little too breathy and cutsie for Annie, though. Just my opionion. :)
