If you're looking for anything major or new, Virgin Megastore has a few discs on sale most of the time, ditto for Tower.

Footlight charges retail, but they're sure to have just about anything you could want.

Honestly, iTunes and ordering online are your best bets.

Footlights is closing its store - will only be available online.

The discount stores (THE WIZ,, COCONUTS) are cheaper but they usually have less selection. VIRGIN in Times square has the best selection and resonable prices. Sorry to hear FOOTLIGHT is closing its doors. I loved spening afternoons their browsing the Lp's and 78 RPM's. COLONY dumped their remaining Lp's a few years ago and with the CD's kept underlock and key it isn't fun to browse there anymore. And they are WAY too expensive.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com

If you're looking for popular shows, I'd say Best Buy is probably your best bet. They seem to have a reasonably large selection, and they're pretty cheap. Colony is usually outrageous, isn't it?? Like $25/CD? I guess that's fine if it's something you can't find anywhere else, but other than that...why bother?
But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)

I won't buy from Colony - a big rip off. I can wait a few days or weeks to obtain the same thing more reasonably priced.

Where are The Wiz & Coconuts?
Question: Will Esparza win for The Homecoming? BobbyBubby: I hope so. If only for the mental health of many people on this board.

I go to Amazon...I buy the old recordings used, but the new ones are much cheaper online than it is at Borders, Barne's, etc...But then again, I don't have much choice to buy from anyway in the good ol' suburbs.
This is my signature.

Amazon! Not only are they a lot less expensive than the local stores for anything not top 10, but starting from the links in BroadwayWorld Radio, Accuradio, or Maxiumum Broadway radio supports them! I'd be lost without internet radio, and want to do whatever I can to keep them going.
