I just got cast as Valentine White in "Babes in Arms" (the Oppenheimer Version) (http://rnh.com/show_detail.asp?id=BA)
Of the few different recordings, which is the most faithful to THIS particular version? Someone said the get the 1989 Studio Cast... any help?
I love the city center recording, the orchestrations are amazing and the cast is age appropriate to the roles, no 40 year olds playing young adults.

I was told that the City Center recording follows the OLDER version (when Susie was called Billie, or something like that)... anyone know if 1989 Studio recording follows the updated version more?

There's no recording using the arrangements for the 1950's Oppenheimer version. Both the 1989 Studio and the 1999 City Center recordings use the original songs and orchestrations.

Actually, neither version is in any way close to the Oppenheimer version. They are both based on the original arrangements and script.
