Daisy.
Aside from the lack of a twin attached to my ass, I want to be accepted by everyone, but I always feel like I never quite fit in. I also have to be the center of attention and desire to be worshipped, celebrated, pampered and loved. :P Who doesn't? I'm a little ham, too... a little more on the naive side... I could use a Violet in my life to keep my head out of the clouds. However, unlike Daisy... I will end up alone, because everyone always ends up leaving me. (At least she had a sure way of keeping ONE person around, no?)

Posted: 7/29/03 at 12:10pmI think everyone can relate to Tracy...everyone at one time or another was ridiculed or had a dream that they wanted really badly.

Posted: 7/29/03 at 1:50pmI would have to say, Mama Rose in Gypsy....well, a male version of her....I just know how it is to want something so bad, and to be so determined to get it. "Some People" is my testimony.

Luisa in The Fantasticks!I totally have my head in the clouds most of the time and am a desperate romantic. I ALWAYS dreamed of playing that role, but the show had to close just as I was finally geting old enough! (42 YEARS! It couldn't stay open for a couple more? A few performances with a girl who couldn't sing wouldn't have hurt anyone!)

Posted: 8/2/03 at 12:36pmI know that practically everyone has said this, but I relate to Tracy. I'm currently in High School and everyone makes fun of me for one reason or another. I just don't understand it because I wear all the latest fashions and have the latest hairstyle. I usually end up being friends with the outcasts.

Posted: 8/2/03 at 11:21pmHi, everyone! This is my first post! By the way, this is a great website. Anyway, I can, as many of you have mentioned, relate to Tracy Turnblad all the way. I know what it's like to go against society and be taunted by the popular group. I can also relate to Millie from Thoroughly Modern Millie. I consider "Not for the Life of Me" my theme song. I have dreams and I want them accomplished to matter what it takes. My favorite line from that show is, "There's gold in them there hills and I'm gonna get it or die trying!" That's definately something I would say.

Posted: 8/3/03 at 12:24amI can identidy w/ Tracy from Hairspray. And someone else noted that "Some People" hit close to home w/ them. Well I've adopted that song as my anthem. I need to get out of this hell hole and am going to if it's the last thing I ever do.

Posted: 8/3/03 at 12:26amOh and I also identify w/ LiTtLeDaNcEr729. My friends laugh at me when I talk about NYC or Broadway. Everyone where I live thinks NYC is the scariest place in the world and Broadway is just dumb. My friends would rather watch some stupid comedy starring a rap recording artist than see real entertainment.

Daisy from Side Show. She never quite fit the mold of society (hell... what siamese twin does? [i don't have a problem with conjoined twins, don't worry]) but her ambitions outweigh her life's problems. She has a clear idea of what she wants from life and has no reservations about doing whatever it takes to make those dreams come true, even if it means getting burnt in the process.
Second runner-up: Cathy. Last Five Years. Why? Because she was a small town girl with big hopes. Towards the end of the relationship, granted, she was a lil bit too "self pity" for my persona. But can you say dream role?? JRB is a god.
As for these strange and ingorant people who poke fun at Broadway lovers, a simple PPPPPBBBBTTTT to them. What has more worth as an art? "But I want to wake up from what I'm dreaming of: dreaming that someday, somenight, I could find love" or "Back that thang up"?? The songs of musical theatre are songs of the soul... not of profit and what's gonna sell.

Posted: 8/3/03 at 1:30pmPJ~ You stole the words from my mouth! When I went to NYC everyone threw a fit about how dirty and dangerous and crowded it was. Most people in my town think it's a horrible place, and the think that Broadway is just stupid. Well, I went to NYC and I saw a Broadway show and ya know what? I LOVED IT!

My alter-ego is Rose from Gypsy...
I was born to the wrong parents who absolutely hated theatrics and was not allowed to participate in anything while I was growing up. Because of that I now push people to be in shows etc...Granted i may not be old and my time's not up yet, but it's hard to get into the business when others have so myuch more experience than you.
