I'd say go with the original double disc OBC if you can afford it, The OBC Hits of Rent CD if you can't, and get the Rent movie CD later

They both have great things about them...but I would have to go with the original. The soundtrack is missing quite a bit (tune ups, voicemails, dialouge and some songs). I highly enjoy both, though!

I'm gonna say the OBC recording -- it's got all of the music on it, and it's the original.

I love the soundtrack, but this came first.

Both.......

I love the reference and reverence to Miss Rosa Parks, excellent.

I say the original. I much prefer that one, although I like the soundtrack very much. They are both very good recordings, but if I had to pick one....OBC.

Get both (really, they are both worth having), but the original cast recording, in its entirety is so full of good stuff. I'd suggesting getting that one first.
