..... raise the price of a ticket even higher ? It may Be Mary Poppins . Any other guesses ?
It will remain at $111.25 for a while...it hasn't even been at that price for very long now.
When did that stop them before ? Who would have thought $ 110 a ticket? Mary Poppins is supposed to be a blockbuster. They may figure $ 5 more won't hurt . Will it be a hit or another Chitty ?
We shall see

It may not be another CHITTY, but it certainly promises to be SH1TTY
I think you're right, Mr Roxy- if it's any show in the near future, it will be Mary Poppins.
I think Poppins may have the same problem Chitty had
If you have 2 or 3 kids how can you spend almost $ 500/$600 for tickets plus eating out & theater souvenirs. No way you can tell screaming kids they cannot have something. No way if I were an investor would I invest in Poppins. This is a huge monetary investment. How many families can handle it ?
Wonder when the bubble will burst & people will finally say, en masse, we refuse to pay these ridiculous prices. Had no intention of see Poppins so for us it is a moot point.
Most of what we see is discounted with only a few full prices thrown in
I really think Poppins needs to have a variety of prices. They need to make some seats up in the balcony cost around $50, or even a little less. That theater is large enough that they can do that. There are enough seats in there for them to offer a range of prices.
Should they do it - yes
Will they do it - doubtful
Hopefully they learned from Chitty but doubt it will make a difference
American audiences, I think, will be *far* more attracted to Mary Poppins than they were to Chitty.
I think that's also true. Chitty (the film) was never revered over here like it is in England. It's their Wizard of Oz, I am told.
Mary Poppins (because of the Disney film) will probably resonate much more with American audiences.

I think the Chorus Line revival may very well push the envelope on ticket pricing.
