WARNING: If you go to see "The Lion King", make sure that you are not in the balcony. You will hate it! I hated it, when I saw it at the New Amsterdam balcony, but it's not because it's a bad show, it was the seating. DO NOT EVERY BUY FROM NEW YORK SCALPERS! THEY WILL LIE (one of them told me that Idina and Kristin were coming back to "Wicked" for one performance and he is the only one who has the tickets for that) and BICKER! They are horrible!

Thanks for the advice!
Don't worry, I was born in the Bronx and lived just north of NYC until last June, when my family relocated upstate to Rochester, so I know the ins and outs of ticket-buying, TKTS, discount codes, etc., and to stay well away from scalpers! I'm just glad I can make it back to the city fairly often to get my Broadway fix--and that I have family I can stay with, so I don't go broke on hotels!

You really need to see Phantom. Phantom is the ultimate show on Broadway and will make your trip a trillion times better. See Phantom!!!

Though I voted for Lion King, Wicked with the incredible Stephanie is also a very good choice !

Wicked.

I guess I'm the only person who wasn't blown away by the Lion King. The costumes and puppetry were extraordinary but my kids and I had watched that movie so many times that it just didn't move me. I felt the same way about Grease and Hairspray.

First of all, *most* people know not to buy tickets from scalpers.

Second of all, there is no balcony at the Minskoff and any seat in the mezzanine is great.

grnsmwhr, you're not alone! When I saw it, it was like the puppet show that never ended. No one in the cast could hold a pitch (I can only hope that everyone had the flu, because it was almost embarrassing); it was like a series of bad American Idol auditions. The costumes were nice, but the book was greatly diluted from the film script. Although there were some nice effects, It was just boring. It was a great disappointment after hearing how it’s “the best Disney show.”

Definitely see Wicked. My friend saw Lion King 2 weeks ago and she said that it was just okay. The cast seemed just plain tired or bored.
