We alwasy take the kids to a show for Christmas with the mothers and the kids: ages12,13and14

Last year we took them to see La Cage, My son goes quite frequently ~ We live in NJ~ We saw Lennon Wednesday Night~ We can see all of them but my Niece and Nephew come from Miami for the holidays and can see only one~ Which one would you pick: Spelling Bee or Sweet Charity~

I would reccommend Spelling Bee over Sweet Charity

Both are wonderful shows. Spelling Bee will entertain the entire family, whether they love bway or not. Sweet Charity is family-friendly but people who don't usually enjoy broadway would like spelling bee better.

Last few shows we saw with the kids: La Cage, Lennon (my son only not the other two kids), Brooklyn( my son only~ not the other two kids) Wicked, Hairspray: My sons Favorite of the last few were La Cage and Brooklyn~ He didn't care for Lennon~ He didn't like the switching of characters playing Lennon and he didn't feel the cast was that musically talented~ However he did enjoy the "3" songs particularly the opening and closing songs~ And like everything we see~ Nothing is ever a waste of time particularly when you are learning to compare and contrast and give opinions about what you appreciate and what you don't~ It was wonderful to hear my 13 year old son describe his likes and dislikes about the show~ I see him growing into quite the critic.
