Which show will get the most Tony nominations this year?#0

I say there are three possibilities:
Jersey Boys
The Drowsy Chaperone
Sweeney Todd

P.S. I know I haven't been on for a while. I'm sorry for the wait.

A tough one. I think those shows you mentioned are likely to be on edge over the next few days out of fear of Lestat sweeping the board. Would be fun if Lestat got a nomination or performed on the night - just for folk to truly see how bad it is.

However, hoping DC gets a good selection, as well as Sweeney Todd

Well considering Sweeney Todd is ineligible for Best Score and Best Choreography, Jersey Boys is ineligible for Best Score, and Drowsy is eligible in every musical category except Best Revival of a Musical, I'd say it's going to be somewhere around a tie between Jersey Boys & Drowsy. I can easily see each show picking up 4 acting noms (all 4 Jersey Boys, 1 Drowsy actor in each category), whereas from the looks of the other award noms thus far, it appears that Sweeney is going to get the main 2 acting nods only.

Probably Drowsy Chaperone. It received 14 Drama Desk nominations, which is more than any other show (Sweeney got 9, Jersey Boys and Wedding Singer got 8, and Pajama Game and History Boys got 7).

Chaperone is going to clean up, which may end up sending Clive Barnes to the hospital.

Pajama Game is in the same boat as Sweeney.

My overall predictions:
Drowsy Chaperone - 11
The Color Purple - 10
Sweeney Todd - 8

Drowsy will get the most, I believe, because it can be nominated for more than JB, Sweeney, and Pajama Game.

I really can't see all four Jersey Boys getting noms, though. Maybe 2 or 3. I think Bobby Spencer may not get a nomination because his character doesn't seem as prominent as the others. It's not fair, but that seems to be the case.

I'm thinking Drowsy...it has the possibility of getting nods for best musical, score, book, four acting noms (maybe more), costumes, scenery, and a bunch of other aspects.

A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.

Ditto for DROWSY. There are enough worthy featured actors in the show alone to fill the category (though it won't).
