It always pisses me off when The Wild Party comes on BroadwayWorld Radio, it's really annoying to listen to! I can't stand it...anyone else not like it?
At first, I wasn't impressed with it either, but the recording grew on me. If you listen to the entire show in context, you might like it more.
Quite possibly ~ I may give it a shot someday and love it...
thanks for telling me, Matt!
Seany, I love your singing and I hate The Wild Party.
LaChuisa or Lippa?
i hate it when songs get played three or four times in a row on bww.com radio.
i LOVE LOVE Lippa's version.............kinda like the other version.
*Let's Juggernut*
which wild party? Perhaps you haven't heard...there are two versions.
I like the Lippa a lot especially "What is it about her"
and "How Did We Come To This" I think they are gorgeous. The cast is also a wonderful combination of a lot of really incredible performers who are not always given the respect they deserve ie: Julia Murney, Brian D'Arcy James and Kevin Cahoon.
BUT! The LaChiusa has something the Lippa does not............
KUDISCH! If he isn't SEXY AS HELL in this show.....then I don't know who is! When he sings "Breezin through another day" I could die.
Leah Hocking is also incredible in this show and I will never get over Toni Collete and how good she is.
And no matter what anyone says I think Mandy Patinkin was very wonderful!
It depends on what version you're speaking of. Do you hate both of them?

I happen to like both versions. Although, I think the La Chusia (sp) has more depth and bears more repeated listenings. (As for hate, I reserve for that for things like, say---Hitler).
Just my opinion, I may be wrong.
"KUDISCH! If he isn't SEXY AS HELL in this show.....then I don't know who is!"
BrodyBaby03 is my best friend for the day.
My standard self-discipline is to keep my mind as open as possible until after I've listened to a show CD three times. I have to admit that I wasn't sure I was going to be able to stay open minded about The Wild Party (LaChiusa) when I first listened to it, but I got through the first three times and decided...I needed to give it a few more tries!
It's growing on me...
MattG If thats you in your Icon we can be best friends for Life.
And even if it's not I love you anyway!
ahhhh Marc Kudisch...."just to think of him makes my heart go boompa boompa boompa" NINE
I LOVE HIM....
everytime he starts to "rape" Nadine "Mae's little sister from Poughkipsie and she gets all bent out of shape I think to myself "Calm down girl, just let it happen" and then I realize how awful that sounds,,,,but honestly....He's HOT
Love you MattG...BFF!
Girrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrl, you ain't EVEN lying! I know exactly how you feel. Ah, to see him pull those pants down again.....
And while we're on the subject:
Can we just discuss him with a french accent as Chauvelin???
UMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
Thats just Vocal Orgasms ALL AROUND>....
I cannot EVEN DEAL WITH him singing "where's the girl"
I'm like "You're killing me"
....I find that it helps to have a large pillow to lay on top of when I listen to this.
Your thoughts MattG
PS ALL!
Im going to see DRACULA tonite! NUDITY! YAY!
I really don't like either of them.
Something else I can't stand...this Dillinger The Musical. Who requests this stuff?
My thoughts? Well, considering that I would watch him stand on stage and fart for 6 hours and find it incredibly sexy, I'm probably not the best judge.
I HATED the Lippa Version while watching it but, love the cd for some reason... i guess it grows on you.

I saw the La Chiusa version because Sally Murphy is an old friend, and I found it extremely UNenjoyable.

I love the Lippa version. His music is amazing and the cast makes it 100 times more enjoyable. I have only heard a few songs from the other version so I cant really say if I like it or not

I've never heard Lippa's. Saw La Chiusa's and loved it, especially Eartha. I never got her until I saw it. Now I'm a fan. Her recording of "When It Ends" does not do her stage performance justice. She blew me away on stage and left me disappointed on the recording.
I never saw LaChiusa's version, or Lippa's version. But Lippa's is just amazing to me. The talent is incredible.
