I work at Immigration at the Vancouver Airport and a guy named Denis O'Hare came in a few days ago with a work permit to work on Once Upon A Mattress. who is he? The name sounds familiar. Oh yeah, some woman named Bernadette Peters came in too. I told her to go to the end of the line. Who's THAT?! (Just kidding. But I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for her and Miss Burnett in the next few days.)
Denis O'Hare is fabulous. An amazingly versatile actor.
I saw him in TAKE ME OUT and he was captivating. He had me hanging on every word.
Most recently, he was in ASSASSINS.
He's great.
Denis O'Hare has most notably been in Take Me Out, he won the Tony..and he was just in the revival of assassins playing Charles Guiteau.

Denis O'Hare was in the original cast of the Cabaret revival, he was also in ASSASSINS. However, his biggest role was in TAKE ME OUT, in which he won a Tony Award (and kept his clothes on!)
Aw, man! I kind of regret being rude to him then.
What's the premise of Once Upon A Mattress, anyway? Who do you think he's playing?
Regardless of all of the hype about Daniel Sunjata and the other naked bodies in Take Me Out, this show belonged to Denis O'Hare and he was just incredible in it. I saw it just a few days before it closed and feel really privileged to have seen his Tony award-winning performance!
and NUMEROUS guest appearances on the numerous Law and Order shows...

Mattress was mentioned up above...is it true it's being remade for TV? With Carol Burnett as Agravain, and the fat girl from Hairspray (can't remember her name) as Fred?
Anyone know who's playing Dauntless?
Denis is one of the sweetest men around.
Did you discuss politics with him?
He is a hoot!
computer glitch.
He also won a Drama Desk award and the DERWENT award for cash last year.
Kerry Butler also won that award.

Was he clean-shaven or did he still have his ASASSINS beard?

Who'd he play in TAKE ME OUT? I LOVE LOVE LOVE the book. I bought it off Amazon. :)
He played the man who owned the stadium and then decided to sell it. He was excellent!
I don't know what his beard looked like in Assassins, but off the plane, he just looked like he had a 5 o'clock shadow. He was a pretty nice guy, but I wasn't really the nicest person to him. I sort of, uh, scolded him and told him to go back in line when he came up to my (empty) counter when I was doing paper work. I didn't make the connection until I went, "Matress Productions Ltd? Wait a minute!" He was very patient with me though. Will keep you posted with the arrival of Ms. Burnett and Ms. Peters.
whoa whoa whoa! hold on a minute there, jayem!
ok i loved Denis O'Hare in Assassins(look at the bottom of my post) but, he was no Michael Cerveris! MC gave humanity to one of the more hated Assasins or attempted assassins of all time(i hate admitting this but i cried in the ballad of booth when the barn was on fire right before the shot) But, Cerveris got his long deserved Tony for an amazing performance
I adore Cerveris and thought his acting in Assassins to be perfection - it was his horrible rendition of a southern accent that got on my nerves.
Still - it was a well deserved Tony. I wish I could have given it to O'Hare/Cerveris/Kudisch all at once! :
ok you got a point. You forgot though neil patrick harris
Damnnnn....You know, I think we just have to give in and nominate the entire cast. I am really going to miss that production.
p.s. I was at the final performance on the 18th and when they broke into the finale of Everybody's Got the Right - I burst into tears and the woman next to me hugged me (I still have no idea who she was). You are not alone!
haha i lvoe the magic of theatre. That was a great show. for that show alone i think that Roundabout should change their contracts.

That would be him! I adore him like no other. He is so brilliant onstage and such a doll in person. I'm so excited that he's going to be in Once Upon A Mattress, thanks for the info! No beard?? Awww.
I've never seen his Law and Orders, which really saddens me. I have to go investigate that.
Imdb says he played Father Morgan on an ep of L&O:SVU...is that the pedophile one? Or was that Eric Schulz...
