I downloaded it, but honestly I haven't listened to it yet.
I did see him perform on Letterman though and thought Love Makes You Beautiful had kinda corny lyrics but some real good music behind them.
"If artists were machines, then I'm just a different kind of machine...I'd probably be a toaster. Actually, I'd be a toaster oven because they're more versatile. And I like making grilled cheese" -Regina Spektor
"That's, like, twelve shows! ...Or seven." -Crazy SA Fangirl
"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott

Well I gave it a listen today. I didn't get to the last four songs yet but it's not that bad. The lyrics can be a little sophomoric and sometimes I felt like a lot of the songs sounded the same. But I found myself liking quite a bit of it and singing along in my head. His voice is okay, it cracks, wails and strains, sometimes purposefully, but it fits the throwback soul style.
I think overall it's a bit pompous and over-dramatic as well as genre-ADD (it's spans soul, jazz, r&b, big band, mambo, folk, funk etc. etc. etc.) but it's not the worst in the actor-goes-musician history book, it's just good (not great, not bad, a bit better than okay). Now a good example of an actor-goes musician is Zooey Deschanel or Jared Leto.
