Hey I'm new here. I've been reading some previous posts and I'm just here to ask why everyone (well not everyone but alot of people) hates/bashes Idina and Wicked? I'm not one of those super-maniac fans whose obsessed with the show but I have to admit she has talent and is a good performer so I was just wondering if something had happened to provoke all the negative posting about the show and her?

Personally, I like Idina as a performer.
As for the Wicked hate... well I enjoyed Wicked, but I think it's more that we're all sick of seeing every single new thread on the board being about Wicked, and what Idina ate for breakfast, and what time she gets to the theatre, and if she signs after shows....
It just gets redundant and annoying. I can't speak for everyone, but I think that was the bigger cause of the 'hatred.'

to me it doesn't seem like that matt guy and other members are jealous of her... it seems as if they really don't like her. It's not like they're competing with her for attention.

I don't hate Idina or Wicked and 'that Matt guy' has posted that he doesn't either. We hate the fans and are trying to discourage them from posting five threads a day on the topic.

ooh haha guess I'm not helping. But can one of those fans answer why Idina has such a cult (annoying) following?

I have no idea why Idina attracts these tennage boys/girls that literally have an orgasm the minute she walks on to the stage. Maybe the little boys/girls can answer that.

There could never be too much excess in honor of Idina and Wicked. She created Broadway as we know it.

I don't think people really "hate" her or the show as much as they are tired of the endless posts on the subject. She's my favorite broadway lady hands down - and even I get a little tired of the 134th Idina/Wicked thread popping up. Plus, prepare for a little backlash in this thread - we've had the "why do people hate Wicked (or Idina) question asked numerous times as well
OneLastRefrain (btw, Rent fan? - nice), your befuddlement at the Beatlemania-esque craze over Idina is the exact reason there's such a backlash. When people make sarcastic comments about Idina, it's not so much to mock her as to mock the people who would say those exact same things without any irony involved. (i.e. "OMG IDINA IS MY IDOL SHE ROX AND SHESE SO TALENTED UR JUST JELUSS!!!!!!xoxoxoxoxo!!!!!)
Is Idina talented? Yes. No question.
Is she so talented that she deserves as much praise and attention she gets from some people? Not by a long shot.
it gets REALLY old hearing the same things over and over.. most brand new people think they are posting something different and say "OMG I LUV IDINA/WICKED!" because they don't bother looking at the THOUSANDS of threads already started about her... and yes she is extrememly talented but its just enough already ya know?
Which is why I block the people who start Wicked/Idina threads. It makes viewing the main board much more enjoyable.
"I've been reading some previous posts and I'm just here to ask why everyone (well not everyone but alot of people) hates/bashes Idina and Wicked?"
Because different people have different opinions. There are far more people here who like her than not.
I don't hate her. I just like acting talent better.

I agree... It's funny to me that Idina won best actress in a musical, because although she can sing, her acting did not even compare to Kristin Chenoweth's. I could see her winning some type of award like best singer in a musical.. but when you think about it, she doesn't really act in Wicked. She just kind of stands there and sings well.

They should learn from the BARE fans: one all-purpose thread, unrolling until the end of time.
Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but I dislike "Wicked" because I just don't think it's a good musical.
