Well, not everything's a hit with a star name (GYPSY).
You can be sure that SWEENEY would never have opened in this production if there wasn't a name playing at least one of the leads (Lauper or Lupone?). ANd let's not forget that SWEENEY has already recouped its investment and now is returning profit to its investors. That makes it a hit.
