I've seen this show twice and think it's extremely well done and can't understand why people aren't going to see it. (I swear I'm not a troll from the production.) Not enough publicity? I honestly haven't laughed so much at a show in ages. They play the camp so well by taking it seriously. Unlike another current campy show which goes so far over the edge they fall off the stage with their roller skates on. Anyway, if you like tough-talking, campy films a la 50s era, you'll love this show.
Maybe if I could type better it would help? Might as well be Beebo Brisket Chronicles.
I think the theatre is too big for the show. There's a big difference between a hole in the wall on East 4th Street and the 37 Arts. Then there's the problem overall with 37 Arts being in the middle of nowhere. Even the building itself, while nice, is cold and not a place I really enjoy going to.
Also, having seen the show in both places, I think the uptown Beebo isn't quite as good as the downtown one. It's a different feeling.
