Playbill.com is reporting that a revival of "Wonderful Town" with Donna Murphy will open in NYC on Nov. 23. I saw this at Encores and thought it was great, however I wonder if a revival is going to bring audiences into the Hirschfeld.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
There is no denying that this musical is 1950's fluff. Another fluff piece "Bells Are Ringing" recently had a limited run. I think it will attract the tourists, and will be a constant staple on TKTS, but I don't think it will attract the younger audiences to Broadway.

But if Murphy and the show get the same kind of reviews they did at Encores (and THE BOY FROM OZ, WICKED and TABOO aren't well received) this could turn out to be THE show to see this fall/winter. With great reviews, they will certainly get the older, regular NY theatergoers. When tourists can't get in to see Jackman, they might just take a chance on this.
