I heard that one of two cables broke that were attached to Stephanie during the last rehearsal. And since it was motorized the motor still lifted her up over 30 feet from one hip even though it was broken. ZFX Flying Illusions was responsible for the flying but I don't know what caused the cable to break. Anyone have any more info?

Posted: 3/17/05 at 12:34amShe flies on a forklift. If you consider going straight up in an elevator-like motion "flying."

Posted: 3/17/05 at 12:35amWell I knew why stood on a forklift, but I'm confused, because no cables are involved.

There is new flying in the tour and ZFX does it. Since there is no trap in the stage for Elphba to come through she flies in to put the curse on Fiyero.

Posted: 3/17/05 at 12:37amI've heard that they changed the blocking of No Good Deed for the tour to have Elphaba fly in instead of rise from the trapdoor in the floor. Apparently they won't have a trapdoor to use at all the theatres and if there is one there is no way to be sure that it will be in the right spot. As for the injury, Stephanie is apparenly sidelined for a bit, as she was bruised up pretty bad from the accident.

Posted: 3/17/05 at 1:07amStephanie was not bruised up pretty bad from the accident at all. In fact she was kind of shocked that it was even a story. She pulled a muscle...not as bad as everyone made it out to be...especially her near and dear friends.

Posted: 3/17/05 at 1:26amIf she wasn't "bruised up pretty bad at all" from this accident why did they cancel the first preview and change the opening date of the tour?

Posted: 3/17/05 at 1:30amIt's a curse she puts on Fiyero? You mean the beginning of "No Good Deed"? I thought it was more of a chanted/spell.

Posted: 3/17/05 at 9:09amThis just adds to the "Wicked Witch of the West" curse. Margaret Hamilton was burned badly during the 1939 film, and her stand in Betty Danko was thrown from the broomstick during the "skywriting" sequence. And then Idina's unfortunate melting mishap and now Stephanie's flying accident. Interesting coincedences, eh?

Um, why are we still talking about this? OLD NEWS.
And I very much doubt they'll be changing the flying on Broadway.

1) Please use proper grammar. That includes capitalization.
2) If I had a dollar for every time someone said "but (insert cast/crew member's name here) TOLD ME"...

WTF..ok i don't have to use capitals if i don't want too...*now i'm going to do it just to piss you off!* and I had a master class with the stage mananger this time last week and she told me this.
So far everything else I've said that I learned from her and Kristoffer has been true...so I'll just let you find out for yourself.

I wasn't snipping at anyone till she had to be a bitch and worry about grammar...it's a message board! NOT english class!
ok..i have my tea now...lol
I don't understand why everyone has to be soooo bitchy when I say something that's true...the first response is always "W/e i don't believe it..you didn't meet anyone.." have some faith people i'm not trying to lie to people!

I'm sure it's more the fact that this is an online message board. (We all know how quick people are to believe everything they read online.)
Not so much the fact that no one believes you personally.

Posted: 3/17/05 at 10:01amTheGaIsSilent must be a miserable person. All of your posts are mean and negative. Stephanie is right in saying that this is a message board, not an English class. Chill out and give people a break or else stay miserable for yourself and keep comments to yourself please.
