Hey guys, I have a question about cancellation tickets & the lottery for WICKED. Myself & a couple of friends are coming into the city this weekend, & are seeing a bunch of shows (3 of 4 are pre-bought). We couldn't get tix to the Sat. PM for WICKED (which we are DYYYYYING to see more than anything), & are hoping we can get cancellation tickets, partial view &/or lottery (we don't need to sit together).
My question is, what time should we get to the Gershwin to buy/wait for cancellation tickets, what time is the lottery, & what do you think the chances are of getting 3 tickets??
(also, if anybody wants to help me @ the lottery on Sat. PM, i'd love it :) )
leave a comment here or email me: abbyforever@mail.com
Thanks!
Always,

Hi there,
I don't know about cancellation tix or partial view, but I do have experience with the lottery rush for WICKED. For the Sat night show you need to get in line around 5:30pm or so. The drawing will be held at 6pm. However, for you to get 3 tix in the lottery, two of you will have to win. (It's a max of 2 tickets per person). From my experience, the lottery is pretty tough. I tried twice, and won the second time ... but it was a fluke for me. It was crazy busy the week I was there - 350 people put cards in on the day I won. I talked to a girl in line who was trying for the 20th time, without a win. Maybe it's not quite a busy right now though ... I went about a month ago, during the height of 'spring break' (unfortunately!).
Good luck to you!

I think your chances are much better in the cancellation line. I got tickets on Valentine's Day this way. Here is what I did!
I got to the theater about an hour and a half before the lottery. I did not know when people started lining up, so I wanted to be there early. At that point, I had no idea there was a cancellation line.
About a half hour before the lottery a LOT of people showed up. I noticed a few people were getting tickets from a small line forming in the lobby. I asked them what it was and got in line. At this point, about six tickets were given out from this line.
Right when the lottery was about to begin, we were told we had to leave the line in order to win the lottery. As a group, we decided to get back in the same order after the lottery.
A couple of the people in line won tickets. When I got back to the lottery line, I still had four people ahead of me each wanting two tickets. I ended up getting two tickets about an hour and a half before showtime. I was the last in the group at the point. Three more tickets were given out after me. We all ended up sitting in the same area...which was fun. So, all together, about 18-20 tickets were given out from that line on Valentine's day! They were GREAT seats. Much better than the ones I purchased months in advance for the night before.
My advice would be to wait in the cancellation line 1- 1 1/2 hours before the lottery starts unless you really want to pay just $25 for your tickets. Just remember that the chances of getting three are slim to none.
good luck!
