How many discs have been sold since it came out. Anyone know? I found this article with some info..
The new musical Wicked is not only a hit at the box office but at record stores as well.
The Wicked cast recording — now available on the Decca Broadway label — had the highest first-week sales of any Broadway cast recording since Jonathan Larson's Rent in 1996. According to Nielsen SoundScan, the 19-track disc sold 17,841 units during its first week on the shelves. Comparatively, during their first weeks, blockbusters Hairspray sold 8,769 units, while The Producers fans bought 8,052 CDs

Posted: 7/28/04 at 11:59amI don't know. Now I'm really interested in finding out. I know I bought one and my mom wanted to borrow it but I didn't give it to her b/c if I gave it to her I would never see it again so she had to buy another one for her car.

Me too. :X My friend burned it for me for my birthday, before I saw the show and before I even read the book. But its getting worn out, I'm gonna go have to buy me a new one soon. My friend has the single..I think it has Defying Gravity and For Good on it.

Posted: 7/28/04 at 1:44pmI LOVE that soundtrack. I've listened to it about a gazillion times. I also have soundtracks to rent, avenue q (and I RUV that one!) and the original cast of gypsy with bernadete peters. She's so kewl!

And I have a picture of me with the wizard guy and the goat man plus Idina!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then I have stuff from magazines and newspapers too and i painted the box and put jewels on it and stuff!
