Wow! What a great show. I have been looking forward to this for months now. But, it didn't really sink in until last night that I would be seeing the LAST performance in Chicago.
Walking down the street to the theatre me and my friend talked about how sad it was going to be to not see the Wicked sign in the Marquee any more, and that all of the green light bulbs would be gone as well. When we walked into the theatre for the last time memories from all of my previous visits started coming back to mind. And I then realized how many good memories I have of that that show, and all of my friend and loved ones I have seen it with. And probably most importantly seeing that show made me realize what I wanted to do with my life. So, needless to say today's show was a little emotional for me.
Anyways, lets talk about the show now! MY hat goes off to the entire cast, they were on their game tonight! Even within the very first moments of the show you could tell that everyone was giving it their all tonight.
Annaleigh Ashford was HILARIOUS! She added a whole bunch of stuff to Popular tonight for their last show. She was so crazy Dee started laughing, and had to wait to move on to her next line.
And Dee was spectacular tonight. It has been a LONG tim since I last saw her and she has vastly improved. The first time I saw her I thought she was just ok in the role. But that was early on in her run. But since then she has truly made the role her own. And she had some nice riffs the entire night.
It was nice to see Gene and Kristoffer again, sice the last time I saw the show they were not in the cast. Gene was his usual hilarious self. And Kris was just as good as I remember him. I had been reading on this site that it seemed like he was getting bored with the role, but I didn't see that at all.
Well, that's it for now. But, I will probably write more later.
