Posted: 4/3/06 at 2:12pmWOW Wicked still is NOT sold out. And here it is two days after the Box office opened to public. A week after they put the presale code out all over, and subscribers had first dibs months ago. I guess it is harder to sell out a 4404 seat house.

Posted: 4/3/06 at 2:32pmyou know what the BEST option would have been? to save your money and not feed the frenzy that has arisen for this lackluster show.

Posted: 4/3/06 at 2:41pmThe way that line was going I thought for sure it would sell out that day.

Well when I checked there were only single tickets avaliable on Fridays.
By the way children&art, didn't you promise to be less of a jerk?
EDIT: just checked and pretty much all the weekend showings only have single tickets available.

Kinda off-topic but...
Just got an e-mail from Nederlander Detroit saying "Our 2006-2007 season will be announced on Wednesday, 5/10/06."
It's about time!

I was too afraid to go there to get tickets, I had a feeling it would be insane.
But yeah, I'm not a big fan of the Masonic. It's in such a bad part of town. Some of the seats are okay, but once when I went with a school group, we had agonizingly horrible seats.

Posted: 5/6/06 at 9:57amI wish they gave some kind of hint as to what the seat numbers are on the seating chart. I still have no clue where I am in my row (I'm hoping close to the center!).

hey, quite complaining....when I lived in Detroit the biggest thing that came was Camelot with Robert Goulet as Arthur, and all I kept thinking is that this was SO wrong.......the worst production of Evita I've ever seen, and a so-so production of Brigadoon.....
at least your getting better things now!

Posted: 5/6/06 at 10:39amTickets are going on sale in Minneapolis. Should I be prepared? Any early codes to beat the rush?

lol - I totally second Elphaba's emotion! I moved to New Jersey in 1997 (was born and raised in Michigan, but like Madonna - had to get the Hell out of the mitten and closer to NYC). I have been to all three theatres mentioned (Fox, Masonic Temple, and the Fisher). I will be damned if I can remember how good or bad the seating was, because at the time (many moons ago), I was just so happy to have ANY shows to see there, but I remember seeing Les Miz and a very very bad production of West Side Story. Blah! I even saw a fairly decent production of A Chorus Line at the small Birmingham Theater (isn't that place now defunct and a movie theater?)
Now, I am, fortunately, within 1 1/2 to 2 hours from NYC and can see things on Broadway, or the even closer Philadelphia. And if the Wicked company that you will see in Detroit is the same as the one that played here in Philly, my roommate said that it was excellent. (She praised the woman who played Glinda, in particular, and I believe that she liked Elphaba as well). I wish I had been able to go!
It is nice to see so many Michiganders here! Hello fellow Mitten people! lol

Nothing too special except for maybe Spamalot and Movin' Out.

Posted: 6/1/06 at 1:32pmSince yesterday was the first performance of Wicked in Detroit I figured it was time to bump up this thread (rather than have multiple review threads). Plus I'd like to know how well Wicked works in a big theatre like Masonic.
