I was looking a pictures on www.idina-here.com and it seems like there are more people trying to get her signature than Julia Roberts.

Maybe it's just me.

Anyone have any experiences they would like to share?

I have been and it is not that bad.

It was awful at first, but it is not as bad now (although there are still a bunch of people there).

haha, it does indeed seem to get rather insane :P

which is why I have such a problem when people are like "idina isn't nice- she rolled her eyes and wouldn't even take pics!" um, 1)shes SHY- and as a shy person myself, I can assure you I would never even subject myself to that crazyness at ALL, let alone do it nearly every night! 2)if she DOES "roll her eyes" occasionally, its prob not because she's a biotch but because perhaps there's a huge crowd of people around her screaming and asking for autographs and pictures, she's TRYING to tell them that she's not doing pics at the moment and they wont listen, and all she wants to do is go home and get some sleep. and 3)sometimes people seem to expect WAY too much of her. If she's only signing autographs, be happy she's doing THAT much, because she really, REALLY does not have to! Shes being extremely nice even to do that, and with as crazy as it can get there is GOOD reason she's not taking pictures.

Please note that the things I mentioned above do NOT apply to everyone. Idina has many WONDERFUL seeming fans, who appear to be very respectful and nice, and in return I believe she seems to be very sweet to them back. No, she's not going to be extremely outgoing and touchy-feely and all that, because thats just not her personality, but from everything I've heard, shes very sweet and pleasent to the people who are respectful to her! The behavior I mentioned above only refers to the fangirls who freak out right in front of her and treat her like she's not a human being -because it also seems like there are pleanty of those people- of ALL ages.

sorry, I am TOTALLY ranting right now, but basically, I just felt the need to defend her because I feel like she's somehow earned a bit of a bad rep by some people as far as how she is toward fans, and I think its utterly unfair as she seems like a very sweet person :)

(and no, I havnt ever actually met her myself, but I'd like to believe I have a fair amount to judge by)

/rant!

I don't blame her. If I were her, I'd probably nuts and mark all over someone's face with their sharpie.

Jeeze, you'd think it was The Beatles or The Spice Girls all over again!

I was there a couple weeks ago. There was a girl (late teens-early 20s) in a witches hat and cape. It was not Halloween any more. I heard later (because I did not stick around to watch) that the girl in the witches hat was the only person at the door to get her picture with Idina. I can only guess that she frightened Idina into submission.

^haha, there was someone else who painted themselves green re: Wicked London Stage Door+Idina Menzel=Crazies

on imdb, there's a post that says:
"I was green when I went to see Wicked. I painted myself green. Lol. And I was like 'Oh my God, Idina, I totally love you' and she goes 'Oh my God, you're totally green'. Lol."

hehe, I love it. "oh my god, youre totally green"

Meeting Idina really is a bit of a disappointment... she really isn't friendly at all. But alas, alack! She is just a human being. Maybe she really IS a bitch or maybe she really is shy, who knows, it doesn't really matter, now does it? So long as she gives a good performance, why should she pretend to care about the mundane details of our lives?

^true, that! :)

honestly though, I really wouldn't have much of a desire to meet her at the wicked stage door. I think the stagedoor just lends itself to a not-so-exiting meeting. Its just too crowded and crazy to have a decent meeting with ANYONE, let alone someone who probably isn't too comfortable in those kinds of situations. I'd much, MUCH rather meet her somewhere like at one of her solo concerts, or anywhere where the atmosphere is less crazy. And i think that'd probably be a much more accurate idea of how she is as a person too re: Wicked London Stage Door+Idina Menzel=Crazies

My theory on actors and stage doors:

Lets face it. In most cases there is another door they can walk out. They know that if they come out that door, there are going to be fans there who want pics or autographs or whatever. I feel like if they walk out that door they should be prepared to put on a smile and be friendly. Not because it is part of their job--it isn't! And not because these are the people who "pay their salary"--we really aren't. But because these are their fans. These are the people who will go to their next show and their next. These are the people who will buy their cd, if they put one out. And if they are rude to them, chances are these are the people who will say, ok, he/she is a good performer but such a nasty this that or the next thing.

Or, if they come out that door (either b/c it is more convenient or there is no other way out) and they are not prepared to stay and sign and be friendly, then instead of pulling down their hats and trying to bulldoze their way through, they should simply make some sort of statement like, "Thank you all so much for coming, I hope you enjoyed the show . . . I'm really sorry but I have another engagement and need to get out of here. Please come again." I'm not saying that all fans would be respectful of this and wouldn't try to mob them, but at least then they (the fans) deserve to be run down.

The one time I saw Idina was at Rent 10. She came out the door, signed for like five people and then said, "I can't. I have to go" and basically bulldozed through the crowd saying, "I can't!" to anyone who asked. Only problem . . . Taye was still there and she was going to the same place as most of the people standing there . . . the after party! Taye was also less than friendly telling my sister and I when we asked for his autograph, "Yeah sure quickly, hurry it up." Not exactly the way to win over the fans!

Everyone can have an off day. I'm sure they don't always want to stand and be gawked at or sign autographs for dozens of people and have flashes going off in their faces. But if you are going to be a performer it is going to happen. And if they want their fans to say good things about them and like them that much more it pays to be friendly.

Of course this is all just my opinion. Sorry it got long. My version of a rant, I guess!

"I wrote a book: "How to Be Popular". Now I've put together a top ten list of how to help you: -Elphie, everyday... shower. I mean, who knows? Maybe some of that green is gonna come off! -Deodorant Elphie. No body likes a stinky witch! -I think we've covered the hair, we'll get to that. -Clean underclothes. That's all I'm gonna say. -Look at your posture. That's no way to be popular! -Bed made, room straightened. We've done that. -Colors blended. Oookay. -But the most important thing to have, to make yourself popular, is to keep your beautiful smile." ~Kristin Chenoweth in her last performance of the song "Popular"

she tried to sign everyone's stuff and take pixs with everyone when I was there! She really put ALOT of effort in satisfying everyone, running here and there!
