Wicked Lotto Boston - Seats?

The show just started playing yesterday in Boston, but does anyone know how the lotto seats have been? According to the worker, it was best available, but I'm just curious where the seats have been. I always assumed it was the extreme side orchestra seats, but they've been selling those on Ticketmaster.

Also, last time Wicked rolled around here, they had lotto loser seats. They didn't offer them last night. The price of the orchestra seats is absolutely outrageous.

I don't know anything for a fact this time but I'm years past they have been towards the side and raised a little bit. I don't know if they're partial view or not. I've never say in them my friend did. I can ask her if they were or not if you want me too. I have my tickets for next Thursday in the 4th row so I'm all set!

I'd be interested to know more about their lotto seats too... if they're obstructed view I couldn't justify traveling to Boston for it, but if not, I might do it. I've still not had a chance to see that show live.

I work at a box office of a venue that had Wicked playing for 4 weeks. I worked the lottery about three-four times a week for the whole run. The tickets were ALWAYS in the front two rows towards the center. Sometimes there would be some a little farther back in addition to the seats in rows 1 and 2, but they were always full view and excellent seats IMO. It probably varies from venue to venue when it comes to which seats are held and used for lottery.

I just got partial view seats for WICKED in Boston at $61.50. They were only 5 rows back in the right orchestra section, and they are aisle seats. I believe the only part of the stage I will not be able to see will be upstage stage left. The full price seats were over $150! The discount codes for these seats was "artsboston".

I was at the lotto today. There were about forty people there, maybe less. We had five people put in our names and two of them were drawn. We only needed one pair so we passed on the second. I don't know if the rain kept people away but I was shocked at the small turn out. I went to Book of Mormon lotto twice and there was over 100 people there each time.

The seats were ok. They were limited view on the right side. My seats were ROBXLV row C seat 50. My seat was fine but the row had four seats and the people in the last two couldn't see most of the action in the back. But for twenty five bucks, it's not a bad view.

I also second getting those artsboston seats. I bought five seats for my friends and they were called limited view but they could see everything.

I've sat in the extreme sides before. I didn't particularly care for those seats.

I was at the lotto today rentfm! Lucky how people get called twice. I never have luck at these things. I would've bought your extra pair.

Where do you enter the code? I don't see a box. They are selling extreme sides for $50 plus service charges, but I didn't like those seats. I'm looking the seats on the sides in the 30s.

This is the page with all the selections of dates. If you pick a date the next page should ask you for the Artsboston code. You don't get to select your seats on that site they pick them for you. Last I looked they weren't extreme one side but they were the small section next to it.

That's a bummer about the lotto. I was thinking about posting a message to see if anyone was going yesterday but I forgot.

It seems like they do most, if not all, of the orchestra boxes for the lotto. I sat house left today and only missed a few bits here and there. I personally think the lotto for this show is weird, I guess they don't want to do whatever's left unsold because they think they can (and do) get more money for it post lottery? But I did think the boxes were great for $25.

Jenn Gambatese entered the lotto today and I felt bad when she didn't win!

Allyk, I can't speak for every performance, but every time I've gone, they've given out around 20 tickets (so about 10 people were called). I think I tried maybe 8 or 9 times and lost every time. I'm estimating between 50-70 people showed up at each lotto I went to, but I'm bad with estimating. I eventually just opted to get tickets through the link.

One time I asked the lotto worker how many seats there were available for each performance, and she said she couldn't tell me. The lotto worker also told everyone that the tickets were best available, but I've read that the lotto tickets were the orchestra boxes, which are extreme sides.

They haven't offered a lotto loser option except at the lotto I went to last Thursday. They said the seats were in the mezzanine and about $50, which is what they would normally cost. So they weren't really true lotto loser tickets, but just some leftover mezzanine seats they were looking to sell.

Thanks millie_dillmount! I've sat in those side boxes before and while they're not the greatest, they're fine if you've seen the show already. I kind of figured that's where the lottery seats were. as nothing is coming up on Ticketmaster there currently (I have seen them for different performances, though). It's just amazing how much the prices for those seats differ per show - they were $25 for Sister Act a few months ago and $30 for Billy Elliot last summer and they're $65 for Wicked - crazy!

I know. I paid $15 to sit there for Mamma Mia. $65 is absurd considering how bad the view is. And to someone who hasn't seen the show, it's a rip off. It's amazing what they're charging to see this show on tour. It's actually cheaper to see it on Broadway.

In Chicago, for the entire run, the lottery seats were always the front row of the theatre, if they had extra seat (when cast members didn't have people coming to see the show), the would give those away as well.

The tour tickets are definitely expensive - $200 for orchestra seats is insane. I remember seeing the show in NYC in 2004 in the orchestra and I don't even think tickets were $100 then. And my orchestra seats for the tour in 2007 in Providence were $65 each... Ticket prices are insane altogether these days.

Like I said, regular ticket prices are actually slightly cheaper in NYC. Tickets in NYC are roughly $150 ($217 for premium), while in Boston they're going for $175-250. I have to pay for transportation, food and other misc expenses for NYC, but at least I can make an enjoyable day out of it and justify the expense. In Boston, I get stuck riding the crappy T to go to a run-down part of what is supposed to be the downtown area.
