I remember Idinal Menzel in "Trying to Defy Gravity but need mechanical lift" being INSIDE the oversized dress when she goes up, but when I just saw it, she was in front of it. Did they change something with this? Also, a sad confession: Joel Grey's understudy is so much better than Joel but I would rather see Joel just because he's Joel. With Sam DeCourt, I actually believe the Wizard was bad. Joel's sick and thats fine but what is Leo Norbert Butz's problem and why wasn't he there. Has he been missing shows on a regular or scheduled basis now because I hear from others who have missed him a lot lately. I hated his understudy. He was fine at first but I think he licked "As Long As You're Mine's" ass and didn't even sing some of it. Not a good Wicked night with the loud gumchewer behind me. Kristen is gold.

1. It's not in her dress, she's strapped into the cherry picker thing.

2. His name is Sean McCourt, and he's fabulous :)

3. I actually think Derrick's "As Long..." is better than Norbert's.

JOHN LITHGOW I just realized, your last name is Butz! Both "Norbert" AND "Butz" are in your name! You must have gotten picked on a lot as a child!

I actually wish Kris Cusick was playing Fiyero full time. I have seen both he and Norbert in other shows and I found Kris to be an over all better performer.

I went on July 10 and I saw Norbert Leo Butz. He was amazing and too bad he is leaving. You should try to see it before July 18 because I heard thats when he is leaving.

whoa. that didn't have to be posted 4 times. o well. i saw taye and norbert the two times i saw the show. i think that taye's performance didn't let the audience see the real personality of Fiyero. Although, during 'As Long...' I was smiling all the way through b/c Idina and Taye are just so cute! When I saw NLB he really brought out everything in the character. His performance was great! Norbert's voice just makes me melt, so i might be a little biased when it comes to that.

I have also seen Norbert and Taye in the role. Seeing Taye and Idina was almost comical, things were a bit hot andheavy during that number.

I saw Taye as Fiyero last December and he didn't act comfortable in the role though there was obvious chemistry with Idina. Would have liked to have seen Norbert in the role but at least everyone else was there!

Which swing plays the Male Authority Figure when Scott is understudying the Wizard?

Who is Scott? :)

The night I saw Sean McCourt as the Wizard (who was amazing), Anthony Galde did his track.

So, what about the dress? I didn't understand the first response. Has something chnaged with th dress because something was different between her, the fork lift, and the giant dress.

hah yeah I agree about Taye-he wasn't great in the role but not bad. I loved watching him and Idina though, that was just the most adorable thing! They got really into "As long.." lol!

i don't know why but a really don't like the idea of a bald wizard. I think it is more knowing that there is a wig, etc. available than anything else. Ido find it ironic that i'm saying this tho whereas i have always illustrated the wizard as bald

yeah me either. it's kind of hard picturing a bald wizard.

i agree that watching taye and idina was fun. my friend kept elbowing me though because i kept saying "aww" whenever they were on stage together.

While a huge slightly horny part of me wishes that I had seen Taye in Wicked, another part of me is glad I didn't. Because lets face it, I most likely would have tried to fling myself on the stage, and then I'd probably have to be removed or something, and well quite frankly thats just not how I'd like my relationship with Taye to start. Or else I may want to try to hurl myself ontop of Idina in an attempt to kill her, leaving Taye ALL TO ME!

I've seen both Taye and Norbert in the role, and I preferred Taye. Norbert obviously was more comfortable in the role though- but I just like Taye's take on the character better- obviously he and Idina had great chemistry on the stage.

What's going to happen when Joey McIntyre (sp?) takes over on 7/20? I'm seeing it on 8/15 (for the fourth time), and it will be the first time I've seen it without Kristin or Norbert. I'm a little scared. I know that Jennifer Laura Thompson has great chops, but somehow, I just can't picture anyone doing as well as Kristin. I partially feeling like quoting Madame Morrible, but I think that I will enjoy the performance. I'll be sitting right in front on JLT on "What Is This Feeling?"
