Anyone else completely baffled and enfuriated that Jersey Boys and Wicked tickets for the Chicago productions are actually MORE expensive than their respective counterparts on Broadway? Jersey Boys is only $1 more, but Wicked is $12.50 more per ticket. Tickets designated as "premium seats" are less, but the highest standard ticket price is higher in Chicago than in NYC.

That's absurd - top seats for Jersey Boys in SF are $90. ($99 on weekends starting on the 6th, though).
Top seats for Jersey Boys in Chicago are $122.50. Pretty much $150 each when you add Ticketmaster "service charges" and "handling fees". Not sure what they have to "handle" if you choose to print the tickets via email.

Wow, that's a huge jump for Chicago Wicked. I bought 4 tickets just before Christmas for this weekend coming up. Top price was $90 at the box office. I can't believe they're able to raise it $32.50 per ticket. But I guess if they're selling out, get what you can for them.
Guess I'm lucky I saw Doubt here for $65 and will see Who's Afraid of V Wolf for the same price.
I'm glad I already have my Jersey Boys tickets through season tickets

Yes. It's ridiculous. I'm coming to NYC in two weeks, and when I was planning my trip, I couldn't believe that I was paying less to see shows there than I did to see Wicked the last time I saw it in Chicago.

Just to calm you down a bit, with Wicked it appears that the regular ticket price is $82.50. There is a $122.50 premium ticket that is listed first on the Ticketmaster sights, but I think this is the premium.
It indeed would be very strange though to charge more in Chicago than on Broadway.
When it first got to Chicago I believe it was $75 for the top ticket, maybe $80 on weekends....
That sucks...I don't pay full price anymore though, I do lottery...
