I read on this board that there were a lot of rumors of a sit down in Chicago after the tour left and I saw that there was a casting call for Wicked auditions in Chicago. It stated that it was not for Broadway and not a tour. Here is the link: http://web.actorsequity.org/CastingSearch/browse_notice.asp?NoticeID=5322&NoticeType=1
I was wondering if anyone else knew if this was true or if that is what this audition call is for?

if its a casting call on the actors equity site, why are you doubting its for real? *confused*

I saw that yesterday on the Equity board and did find it odd. A friend of mine was to audition. I will ask him about it.
Oh I'm not doubting if it is real. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything else about Wicked doing a sit down production in Chicago? Or if I was completely misreading the casting call?
YEAH...I told everyone...there is a SIT DOWN production after the tour leaves *a week of break in between* the tour leaves their set and then a new cast comes..
KRISTOFFER CUSICK is Fiyero...
NO one believed me,...GRR
That will make Jarico happy. I'm sure he'll want to see it again.

I know tickets went extrememly fast for the tour here. It makes sense to stay in Chicago and make some money. I could imagine them staying for a year or so, if they can find a theatre for that long. I think it's a great idea!
If I was equity I'd soooo be skipping school right now....ARGG
I saw Kristoffer Cussick as Fiyero in NY and thought he was really good, far better than Joey in my opinion.
Stephaniethestar: Do you have any idea of other potential leads? Also, any idea what theatre it is at? Little Shop of Horrors comes a week after Wicked and is at the Ford Center for the Performing Arts until July 3rd.

Rob's got the Story up on the Pulse. Looking at "Pop stars to TV stars" for Elphaba.....
Do you think it could possibly be at the Schubert theatre, soon to be the LaSalle Bank Theatre?

You mean the site of your triumph in Spamalot?
That sure makes sense- it's scheduled to be done in "fall of 2005" (Close enough?) and there is nothing slotted for that theatre yet I can find. The only problem is that the Schubert was quite a bit smaller than the other two theatres-- would Wicked fit in there?
I have tickets for the tour in May, but will definitely check out a sit-down production later in the summer... I want to hear more details!
"Wicked" can't be at the LaSalle Bank Theatre. The first show there is "The Woman in White" in November.
Hehe. My Spamalot triumph? Yes, indeedy. I will hold that place on my heart forever...
and I didn't know about Woman in White being there. Hmm. They should put it in the Cadillac Palace somehow. Every time I've been to a show there, tons of seats have been empty. Plus, its an over the top venue in its decoration. Love it!
Actually, "Lion King" is back at the Cadillac Palace for an open run starting in June. I wonder if this all means that touring productions like "Little Women" will be forced to use the never-used Chicago Theatre.
What about the possibility of diverting some shows to the Auditorium Theater since Broadway in Chicago now books shows there.

The Chicago has a teeny tiny backstage area- That's why Disney bailed out the first time, they realized that none of it's shows would fit there. The stage is quite shalow also.
And if Spamalot turns out to be the triumph it's seeming to be, I'm sure we'll be host to s few more pre-Broadway engagements.
Well, there are only a handful of places they could do this. The Auditorium would be too big for a long run, wouldn't it?
Situations like this make me happy that I live in Chicago.
I don't think they'd put a sit-down run at the Auditorium because Broadway in chicago shares it with other companies.
Doesn't Broadway in Chicago actually *run* Ford, LaSalle and Cadillac while they just lease the Auditorium from Roosevelt University? I've always been confused about the ownership of the Auditorium.
yes, Roosevelt university still owns the auditorium. Broadway in Chicago just books shows there if there is room.
WhiteRabbit-- Sorry all i know is Kris!

Yep, its the real deal.
My acting teacher is close friends with someone who had her callback for the extended stay today. She had told us when she came in to do an audition workshop and an ear-prompting workshop with us.
LOL..if it wasn't for the fact i have at least three years left I would go to the audition, hope they wanted me, and THEN get my Equity Card...lol
yay for Wicked4life51!
