I just saw WICKED Wednesday night (for the second time). I was lucky enough to get the ENTIRE cast on, and wow!!!!! I'd never seen a better show the first time, but Wednesday was that much better! On the CD and the first time I saw it, Idina, while singing ok, sang with a lot of tension. This time it was like something took over her: she sang better than Kristin Chenoweth (if that's possible). The two of them of course had amazing chemistry, but Idina was just amazing (Kristin was amazing as always, but this time not as great as Idina). "Defying Gravity" was the most amazing feat I've seen in my life, and I cried during "For Good" and when Elphaba dies, not because I forgot the end, but Kristin was so convincing that her reaction made me cry. The conductor took it a lot slower than on the CD or the last time, which was really great, but it threw of the choir a little bit. I can't wait to see the show again (granted I have to get into NYC, first). I really hope the tour comes to DC with a good cast! Hats off for the most amazing performance I've ever seen in my life! Btw, is there any REAL news (not rumors) about who's going to replace Kristin Chenoweth? I'm really curious about that.
