I was at the lottery for the show today, and I was the second name called! I took a picture of the understudy board in the lobby, it was so funny. It was so great to finally see Eden in the role. Sean was also exciting, Laura was hilarious (although her singing was not quite up to par with Kristin's), I didn't like Sean McCourt's understudy, he butchered that note Sean holds out so perfectly. I was sad. But not for long.
As well as me being thrilled to see Eden (finally!), SHE was just as excited as I was. She was so fabulous today, her No Good Deed scared the crap out of me, and in Defying Gravity she was leaning over the edge of the...thing, looking down at all of us. it was great. All in all, I thought the performance went VERY well. It was also when many special things happened to me. I won the lotto, Eden remembered me by name and everything, I got to see her perform, I got backstage... Ahhhh, today was so good!
Oh, but Randy sort of dissapointed me. I mean I heard him going up and down the scales behind the curtain just before the show started, but he just didn't do it for me. And his Witch of the East? He was rushing so bad, and I was like "Ohhhh Randy, slow down." And then he caught on, eventually. Right at the end of his singing part, but oh well.
Oh, BRDWYTHRT: You were also in Kristin's dressing room after the show? Maybe I might have seen you. I was the redhead in the green top and denim skirt, the one who was probably hyperventilating.
You know it and you want it... you just can't believe you've got it.
