I'm seeing the show late May in Chicago and the main reason I'm going is to see Carole! Is Carole absent often because with my luck her understudy will be there. No offense to her understudy!

As far as I know, Carole has a great attendence record. I saw her when she was in NYC, and she was incredible! You will truly enjoy her. Best Madame Morrible by far, in my opinion.

Carole is Wonderful....but Rondi Reed nails the role too. She has a slightly different take on it and somehow seems more "evil" to me. Her speech during "Defyiny Gravity" is magnificent!
Just have to add my 2 cents... I saw Carole in the tour in LA and thought she was terrible. So, when I found out she was in the Broadway cast when I was going to NYC, I was mad. But I saw her last week, and the changes are great, and I loved her. She doesn't "screech" as much now. She also speaks a lot more of the lines that she had been singing when she was on the tour.
So, I hope you get to see her performance.
You are thinking of Carol Kane.
renthead333 is refering to Carole Shelly
Rondi Reed...is Madame Morrible in Chicago?
I didn't know that.
i saw carol kane on tour and i thought she was nothign special. But whos better Carole or Rondi???
I thought she did a good job when she was in Cincy...her "WICKED WITCH" line was frightening.
