Anyone know when they will record their songs for release?

the official site has clips from some of the songs but i dont know if those are just promos or recordings from the CA production...

anyone know?

The sounds on the site are promo/radio spots. Stephen Schwatrz has said that they are aiming to have the disc out in time for the holidays.

From THE SCHWARTZ SCENE email newsletter:

WICKED's orchestra, cast, and songwriter head for a recording studio on November 10th to create the original cast recording. A CD will be released sometime thereafter. Stay subscribed to receive further information.

I understand that it takes about 6 weeks to put it together after the recording, but I could be wrong.

I hope they do not butcher the show and release a single cd for sake of price. Children of Eden sounds so much better with all the music then with just the highlights cast cd.

What a great board! I had just looked at the pictures that MacBeth posted the link for - and was wondering about a recording for WICKED...and here is the info!

I agree with BoxOfficeJon - fingers crossed for a good elaborate recording!

I hope they do a double disc. There is so much material that shouldn't be cut.
