Wiest and Cumming to Star in CSC's THE SEAGULL#1

"Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Jessica R. Jenen, will continue its 40th anniversary season with two-time Academy Award winner Dianne Wiest and Tony Award winner Alan Cumming starring in Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull, beginning performances Wednesday, February 20 at Classic Stage Company (136 East 13th Street).

The official opening is Thursday, March 13. The Seagull will play a limited engagement through Sunday, March 30. The production will be directed by Viacheslav Dolgachev, with sets by Tony Award winner Santo Loquasto, costumes by Suzy Benzinger, lighting by Tony Award winner Brian MacDevitt, and translation by Paul Schmidt.

Additional casting will be announced in the coming weeks..."

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.

Will Cumming be sober? He certainly seemed to be on something when the Threepenny excerpt was televised on the Tony Awards several years ago, ditto the performance I attended. I'm still smarting about how LOUSY that production was and will NEVER get an advance ticket for the Roundabout again. They should be flagellated for that one. As for Cumming, you couldn't pay me enough to see him again.

I am seeing it tonight from the first row and am very excited. A huge fan of Cumming but an even bigger one of Wiest.

Went to the first preview last night. The show was very well done. Definitely go and see it soon, most of it's run is beginning to sell out.

I am going to see this on Friday. Anyone else want to share a reaction to this production?
