I have always wanted to see it, and now that Aida has closed, i am heartbroken.... enough of my sorrow, does anyone know if they might do a tour of the show??
thanks for responses..
They have been touring for some time now. Check out disneyonbroadway.com
I think the tour ended... but then I think I heard there's another one.
I should know this.

There is definitely another tour. AIDA comes to Greensboro, NC next April.

the tour ended a LOOONG time ago.
Hm. Maybe if there's one in Jersey I'll venture out and see it... or maybe I should just leave it at last night.
Oh well... I've got time.
I think the upcoming tour was cancelled. Its a shame, as I was going to see it here. I think it had something to do with the Equity/Non Equity battle.
Nooooooooooo!
According to the Greensboro Venue...

So this is a regional theatre production, or the tour?

Emcee, we hardly ever get tours in Jersey being so close to NYC. But the closest thing to me is either Philly or Baltimore. If one comes this way we will definately take a road trip!

The first national tour ended last summer. Disney recently released the rights to the show, so any tours you see now are regional and non-equity tours. There definitely are other companies putting on the show. A few places have already put it on. From what I hear, they'll be scaled down versions of the show...not nearly as elaborate as what you're used to seeing.

I don't remember the exact dates off hand, but I believe it was March 2001 - September 2003.

"the tour will kepp going on check browadwayacrossamerica.com it will tell you everything about tours"
No it won't...BroadwayAcrossAmerica is a company that books shows for theatre's involved with their program. The only dates that are listed on BAA.com are for cities that are part of the "Broadway in _________" program. Gosh, I wish people would realize that. That is why I created my site.
The upcoming Aida tour was canceled due to non-Equity issues. It was going to be produced by Big League Theatricals.
Last string of hope.
Oh well... c'est la vie.

It would be non-Equity anyways...not the Broadway production. Don't give up hope...their web site says it is postponed.
I saw it in Denver in July 2001. I think it also played in San Francisco or San Jose sometime in the last year or so. So yeah, it's been around a lot of places.
Umm... there's one in Massachusetts starting 10/26.

That is a regional production.
"That is a regional production."
Yes, I know. But it's better than no production at all.
