Lorraine said that she was in the ensemble of Taboo (when Karen asked where she "disappeared" to), and Karen she almost saw that when it was up at the TKTS booth but got LSOH tix instead, and she thought the plant was phoning it in.
Obviously much funnier on tv....heh

Lorraine and Karen were in the middle of a fight and Karen asked where Lorraine has been hiding. Lorraine replied, "The chorus of Taboo." Karen sayd she tried to get a discount ticket, but went to LSOH instead. Lorraine asks how she liked it. Karen said it was ok, but she felt the plant "phoned it in."

I watched it and it was VERY funny. Got to love the Taboo joke...they obviously filmed that before the news came out that they were closing. My sister and her b/f were watching it with me and I was the only one who laughed...figures. Does anyone know when season two comes out on DVD? We have been watching one all of the time.

it was very funny, but i was kinda shocked since rosie was on show the a few seasons ago and meghan was in grease with rosie. but still very funny. hiding in the ensemble of taboo!lol

I saw the rerun today about Karen giving her clothes to charity. It was hilarious.

I think I want the Season 1 DVDs. Hm. I have 50 bucks toward the mall, maybe I'll go buy it.

I agree with LuvtheEmcee...the broadway references are great! Did they always have them? I've just noticed them this year (Mamma Mia, Taboo). It makes sense though...after all, Will, Grace and friends do live in NY..

The LSOH and TABOO references were hilarious, true.

But...

Does anyone else out there feel that "Will & Grace" is dangerously close to "jumping the shark"? The plot lines keep getting more and more outlandish.

Amen. The show still makes me laugh, with Karen and Jack are Heckel and Jeckel, but despite all the hand-wringing over Grace's love life, it's not as character-driven as it used to be.

I thought the show really got back on track last season with the pygmalion plotline, when Will and Jack tried to teach Dan Futterman how to be gay. It was funny, sharp, and endearing, and at the end, we cared about Futterman. When he was revealed, Eliza like, sans beard, etc, it was charming. And we saw Will smitten. It was poised for a real high-stakes battle between Jack and Will for Dan. But it was a two episode arc, and bam, over. Whereas Grace gets long, drawn-out romances. I really thought he might've been Will's true love. Anyone else enjoy that plotline?

Please don't yell at me posters, I love the hinjinks. I laugh. But that particular story was real (enough) and gave Will the focus he too often lacks. Also, it's been, what, 5 years? Eric is cute, in his gay prime, lives in NY. I mean, come on, forget love-of-his-life, why CAN'T Will at least find a decent date?! It begins to read like there's something fundamentally wrong with him. In terms of sitcom precedent: at least Mary Richards got laid.

Except for the broadway references, I didn't find the show too funny last night. Karen as Mrs. Stanley Walker is funnier than the desperate Karen having flings with other men. My favorite episodes are the Barry ones, the kagina one ("You couldn't find a G-spot with a yahoo map!"), and the most recent Fanilow one.

Hey, everybody -- a couple of things.

I was there the night they taped last night's episode, with the Taboo line. It taped on Tuesday 12/9, so yes, it was before the closing announcement (too bad Taboo is actually closing -- it kind of ruined the joke, so I guess Rosie got the last laugh on that one.)

LOVE THIS SHOW!

I think all the actors are great, but I think Megan Mullally's character is my favorite. From what I know about her, she is so unlike the Karen Walker character but she pulls it off. It still surprises me a *little* when I hear her speak in her normal voice.

Chasing_rainbows, I hate to break it to you but because of syndication, they are only able to release one season on DVD every six months. So season 3 won't be available until the end of September. Still, it's quicker than HBO are putting out seasons of Oz. 13 months in between seasons 2 and 3.

I agree with Auggie that the show has become less character driven over recently. It seems to me that W&G is kinda trying to be the American version of Ab Fab. Karen and Jack are the American Patsy and Edina. Even some of the jokes on the show (remember when Karen didn't know how to open a soda can)seem to be lifted right from Ab Fab. I personally think that Ab Fab has this kind of comedy down to perfection. Don't get me wrong, I still laugh at W&G, but like Auggie I would like to see more stories based in reality. It seems that now they just like to see how much they can get by the NBC censors.

I, too, was very disappointed with the two episode arc of Barry and Will--what the heck? It was like watching something in fast forward.

I wish the creators/producers would be braver about his love life. Are people who watch this show/laugh at the raunchy jokes really going to be offended by his kissing another man?? Grace has had 3 major relationships, while Will hasn't even really had a date of substance.

However, I do love the show--this is my only gripe.
