90% of people across the country will have no idea the show flopped on Broadway. They will just recognize the title and know it's a safe show to bring their 12 year old daughters to - none of them cross-dressing homosexuals taking their clothes off and swearing!

The show would've lasted longer if there were some actors (paging Danny Gurwin <---------!!) taking off their clothes!

The tour is already scheduled to be in Chicago Jan 24-Feb 5 with Maureen McGovern. Since it is included in the season ticket package, the tour is already making money from subscribers. I've no doubt it will do well.

I agree Matt. I would not choose to see it in NY over the many shows currently running, but look forward to seeing it in my cheap BWC seats.

I'm surprised no one here has suggested yet (at least not to my knowledge) that the Broadway cancellation and the tour may well be related. By cancelling the show now, aren't the producers hoping that many of the cast members will choose to do the tour? If the show remained open ended, most of them would probably want to stay with the Broadway show. Faced with the prospect of sure work vs looking for a new job, I'll bet that many tour, as did virtually the entire cast of Caroline, or Change (though that was only a two city "tour." What do you all think?

Esl -- I agree that the Broadway cancelation may be related, but perhaps for a different reason. Closing the Broadway production means that the sets and costumes can be recycled for a tour. That is a huge savings. Most of the tour has already been cast so I actually don't think getting the current Broadway leads to sign up was much of an issue.

Right. A lot of shows that have disastrous runs on Broadway end up recouping the initial investment from the tour. Seussical and Titanic are just 2 that spring to mind.

Nothing precious, plain to see, don't make a fuss over me. Not loud, not soft, but somewhere inbetween. Say sorry, just let it be the word you mean.
