Will the Tony Award Performances be live?

A friend just mentioned to me that due to the Tony Awards not being at Radio City, the performances featured by the Tonys will be taped and broadcast during the ceremony. Does anyone know anything about this? I haven't heard/seen anything official. I'd hate for this to be true.

That would be lame. They did live performances before it moved to Radio City so I don't see why they would change it for the Beacon.

Maybe because the Beacon has a much smaller backstage space?
