It's bound to happen, right? Who would be the ideal cast?
Will there be a Doubt film?

Well... I "doubt" they'll cast Cherry Jones.
Just a reality check. The only way a studio would back a film like this is with a bankable movie star involved.
I wouldn't even say that the movie itself was bound to happen. I'm still waiting for the highly acclaimed, Tony and Pulitzer Prize -winning film version of "Fences." I stopped holding my breath years ago on that one.

I can see HBO doing it. It worked for Wit and Angels in America.
Sure, they'll still want a big star, but HBO would take more risks with the project.

HBO... Now you're talkin'!
Still star-driven, but way more of a possibility. I agree about less artistic compromise too.
