You're only hope is to get contraband versions.

The only reason I have some is from someone who knows someone who knows William Finn and gave them the permission.

"I Have Found" is from a show Finn is working on called "The Royal Family of Broadway" (based on the play).. Carolee Carmello sings it on the CD and it's absolutely marvelous.

If you want the recording (it's called Infinite Joy: The Songs for William Finn), you can find it for $6.25 on Amazon.com (through a vendor, but still!). It's a great CD; I listen to it often.

Both songs are from the Infinite Joy concert that was done at Joe's Pub. I have "Anytime" as well. It was cut from A New Brain. Finn's got some great stuff, and I'm sure there are MANY people awaiting the Elegies release!

But I won't live alone in a house of regret.

I also just got myself (finally) a copy of 'In Trousers'. I have listened to a few tracks. What do people think?

I LOVE "In Trousers" and I am amazed that I have never heard of some enterprising young company doing the three "Falsettos" musicals in Rep.

It's out there. I've got copies of Anytime (Norm's key), I Am There (Carolee's key), Infinite Joy and some others. It's funny because they actually say "Carolee" or "Norm" printed on the music.

IN TROUSERS is my favorite piece of the Marvin trilogy, and the one that I listen to the most.

The second that "High School Ladies at 5 o'clock" ends, I can't resist jumping over and pressing the back button to hear it once again. Testa's "Set Those Sails" kills me, as does Fraser in the gorgeously evocative "I Am Wearing a Hat." It's a great CD.

I also love the INFINITE JOY score, especially "Hitchhiking Across America," which always makes me smile.

I can't wait for SPELLING BEE!!!

I agree, "Spelling Bee" will definitely be worth the wait! One of my dream roles is to be Gordo or Roger in "A New Brain". William Finn is fantastic. Absolutely astonishing!

In Trousers is the best of the trilogy to me, too, Veuve.

I am wearing a hat--and those last two numbers on the cd...

"Yesterday is done. See the pretty countryside. Merrily we roll along, roll along- catching at dreams."- Merrily we roll along "The living was the prize, the ending's not the story."- Elegies, a song cycle
