William Finn is my favorite Broadway composer with the possible exception of Steven Sondheim
Something those two have in common but I feel William Finn is far more liable to is just
Kind of lying
Or really just saying things that wind up not happening for some reason
There was an old Playbill interview in which William Finn talked about making a movie of Falsettos

And
Nothing about that has ever come up anywhere as far as I've seen
Falsettos (and more specifically Falsettoland) is my favorite musical of all time so I'd be up for a movie, but obviously that's not happening
The way he worded this makes me almost think the movie would've also been a semi sequel
And that's not baseless at all
Because James Lapine said that there were talks of a sequel to Falsettoland, with the specific idea of Jason getting married
This was in a video interview that I believe included Christian Borle and Anthony Rosenthal that must have been around 2018 based on Anthony's age, but I can't find the video again for the life of me

In this interview, William Finn says somebody's going to put on Elegies soon
And
That hasn't happened yet
Now the only reason I say all this
The Royal Family of Broadway wasn't fully produced until decades after it was first mentioned by Finn
And with no official statement on the Falsettos movie or the Elegies revival
A part of me is kind of waiting for them to randomly happen
