Who has become a major 'Billy Joel' enthusiest, after seeing a performance or heard the cast recording of 'MOVIN OUT', and didnt really know his music before hand? (apart from his classics).

I feel like a late bloomer. Last year was a 'discovering joel' year for me and I now have a huge appreciation for him and his music. Anyone feel this way? seen him live? share any stories?

please tell. William Joel.

Both my mom and brother are big Billy Joel fans. It's kind of ironic, I guess, but when my brother and I were young, we fought a lot, so of course it was taboo for either of us to like something the other did. Around age 7, he picked up Billy Joel fandom, so of course I had to be very mature and hate it. That said, when Movin' Out opened, my mom took him to see it. They liked it, but being such big fans, they were slightly bothered by someone other than Billy singing his music. My mom ended up with a second set of tickets, and offered them to TM Cara and I. I wasn't about to pass up free tickets to a show, so we went. I loved the show, and came out of it a big Billy Joel fan. I too was not very familiar with most of his music before seeing the show, and it opened my eyes to how brilliant he is. re: I'd really love to know...

As brilliant as Michael C is. I sometimes wonder what the show would be like with billy in replacement. He's getting on abit though...

Kind of unlikely, I think. I actually didn't see Michael, which was pretty disappointing, since I absolutely adore him. The understudy... Wade Preston, I think is a really talented musician, but I missed Michael's charisma, and they way he really gets into the music. Eventually I'll get back and see him. Speaking of Michael, though, does anyone know how long he's staying with the show? It's been a while.

I was a dork and was in marching band when I was in high school. And one year, our theme was 'The Music of Billy Joel'. We did 'The Piano Man', 'Pressure', 'Rosalinda's Eyes', and 'Honesty'. (I was very disappointed when 'Honesty' wasn't in Movin' Out.) But since then, I have been a HUGE fan of Billy. I LOVE his work, and I recently got a 50-song collection of his music. Yahoo!
