It played in Melbourne, Australia, and I think it recently played in Russia (of all places!). There were some rewrites in London, and in Melbourne (one song was cut).

But, in answer to your question, I have no idea if it is "flying to New York", but going on the cast album, it sounds like a great show!

OK! I think I am the second biggest Witches of Eastwick fan in England (there's one guy who's much worse). Any questions you have, I can answer them I think.

The show is amazing, I saw it about five times in its short lived 16 month life. It's funny, sexy, sad, but overall, an incredibly uplifting show ending with a powerful optimistic message from the three strong leads.

Yes, the CD does it every bit of justice, Loose Ends was cut in the Australian version and Who's the Man was cut in the revamp London version (yes, it revamped after just 7 months, it was the first sign of an early closure). WTM was replaced with a gospel, organ song called The Glory of Me, which isn't as blunt and rude as WTM but still a good fun number.

It was about FUN, and I think that's why it didn't succeed, when you leave the theatre, you leave on a high but there's nothing to question or read much further into.

I have a copy of the second London script, if anyone wants it they can mail me at jake@musicals.onthe.uk.net or private message me.

Any questions on the show?

Jake.

P.S, if it comes to Broadway, I'm there..

I love the CD and am really hoping that it makes its way across the pond. I haven't heard anything about it lately though.

1. Why did they revamp the show so soon??

- Poor ticket sales mainly I guess, it was in one of the biggest theatres in London and was not doing well, it was also a very expensive show to run. At the new theatre it was dramatically scaled down, for the worse in my opinion - it looked a lot tackier.

2. What was wrong with it the 1st time??

- Nothing really, it's quite an intimate show and the theatre was a bit too big, there's a great flying scene at the end of act one where they fly into the audience and around the auditorium.

3. Why did lucie and maria leave the show when they changed it??

- They say that there was some bitterness amongst the cast when Joanna Riding got nominated for an award when really she didn't have the bigger role and they were all as equally good.

4. what song is WTM??

Abbreviation for Who's the Man. Got cut in the revamp.

Hope this helps, anymore?

Jake.

JakeB why do you think joanna was nomatied and luci and maria was not?? just from listening to the cd it seems like lucie and maria have the bigger parts. and maria has a big show stopper words, words, words. by the way did she stop the show with that song?? and did the other girls stop the show with their songs as well?? thanks

I'm not sure really, Maria Friedman deserved it more because of Words Words Words which really demonstrated her incredible skills. She also had to act a lot more because she had a stutter which by the end she overcomes (due to becoming a powerful woman), it was very subtly done. Yes, she pretty much did stop the show with it, but we don't really have show stoppers that much here.

Lol, yeah, that was pretty dumb of me to write. What I mean is, I've never seen a showstopper in the fact that the show has stopped for longer than a worthy applause. I dunno, what is the definition of a showstopper? It wasn't a showstopper in the sense that Dirty Laundry was, that even had a written encore.

There were rumours about it about a year ago but then the production fell through and nothing became of it. She's currently in Ragtime, which is closing a week on Saturday and then after who knows..
