Boo hoo. I loved this show. It was so different and original. It desereved better.
I saw it again the other night and will try to see it one last time before it leaves forever.
The cast had pulled through so much and really should be recognized for having kept up such amazing work through such difficult situations. I saw understudies for almost the entire cast (except Walter Charles and Angela Christian) and the show never suffered. If there was a Tony award for best company I would vote for WIW. My biggest regret is that there is no cast recording. I think the improvments from London are so great, both in casting and in the show itself, and I would gve anything to have Adam Brazier's "Evermore" on CD. (at least I have "The likes of us". As bad as it is, it's still his voice). Also Michael Ball's "you can get away" is so much more entertaining the Crawford (YUCK)....mind you, so is Norman Large who i've seen twice now and really enjoyed.
Anyway, I wish everyone who hasn't seen it goes and gives it a chance. It's a great story, well staged and proformed by the best voices on B'way! HANDS DOWN!

Hello Amy- read your comment on the WIW play, and want to tell you that I purchased the original London cast recording of the WIW today from Border's Bookstore. I'm sure Tower Records would carry it also. It isn't Michael Ball (My favorite) singing, but it's very good nonetheless. At least you can enjoy the music whenever you want.

Posted: 2/9/06 at 6:11pmI am still not sold on the London cd though. I want a studio recording with more umph behind the orchestra. Plus I agree with Amy3 about the b'way cast being much stronger. Shame it's closing but I don't think anyone was giving it that long to live.
