Women on the Verge is WONDERFUL!!

What was everyone complaining about? I just came from the matinee of it's unfortunate closing week, and I was RIVETED. I loved the show. Is it a top 5 for me? No... but this show deserves to run.

I blame it on the idiot producers who thought they didn't need to work the show OUT OF TOWN like every other hit in history (ok, that may not be a completely accurate statement)... but I had friends that I TRUST and respect the opinions of, that HATED WOTV when they saw it in previews... and I LOVED what I saw today...

If you're gonna put the time and artistic efforts into producing a show - then work the danged thing OUT OF TOWN and get it right first...

Such a shame to see it close. I could go back happily and see it again tonight...

If you were RIVETED and it was WONDERFUL then why the HECK are you saying they NEEDED an out of town TRYOUT?

And WELCOME!

I say that about an out of town tryout, because I think the I show I saw this afternoon was probably a VASTLY different show than the preview audiences saw and perhaps maybe even that the critics saw. I don't know. But I think if preview audiences saw the show I saw today, the word of mouth would have been pretty wonderful and then the previews could have been all about the actors and the crew finding their footing with a good show, instead of it being about trying to save a mis-fire (as so many of my friends categorized what they saw during previews).

I am so sad that Women on the Verge is closing on Sunday. I had tickets to see it on Wednesday. I've already been refunded. I was really looking forward to seeing the show. Now I'm seeing American Idiot. Still would rather have seen WOV!!!!!
