Hi all, I just got in from Wonderful Town from tonight (Wed). And yes Donna was in. She was absolutely incredible. And the show was an amazing throw back to the way musical comedies used to be made (w/ a great supporting cast)
Anyway, so tonight about 10min into the show the first set change when the apartment scenery is supposed to come on stage only 1/2 of the set flew in and the couch and the platform with the table/chairs and other things never slid on stage! Now, as an audience we really didn’t notice anything was wrong until the actor playing Appopolous (David Margulies) tried to cover by saying something along the lines of "well you can see the apartment as soon as it finishes coming in, come in set... come in!" At this point Donna Murphy starts to crack and Jennifer Westfedlt tries to begin her next line. However, Donna Murphy and the audience couldn’t keep it together. She was laughing hysterically and so were we! The crowd had so much energy tonight so we kept applauding their effort to keep going and this "live theatre moment" happening right in front of us. Finally the stage crew came out to fix the problem. They then politely showed Donna, Jennifer and David off stage. On the way out Donna was still cracking up and was mouthing, "I’m sorry" to us. The main curtain finally fell and an announcement was made. We sat there for 20min as they fixed the technical issues.
The rest of the show went on flawlessly and Donna was on fire. None of the cast let this throw them. They delivered a fantastic show. And every time the set changed back into the apartment (throughout the rest of the show) the audience let out a thunderous applause. This was truly a great moment, even though it was a mistake, but hey it’s live theatre folks and well anything can happen.

I loved the set mess-up last night. As Donna Murphy left the stage she said "A Hell of a Town". Wonderful!
I have a question---There was a gentleman sitting in the orchestra (on stage) who just writing in a notepad for the entire show. (He sat behind a sax). Who was he and why would he just be writing? Thnx.
