I'm new. Just to introduce myself my name is Lilly. I just want to say that Wonderful Town is the best musical I have seen in a while. I'm only 15 but I go to the theatre a lot and I study it in school and outside of school, so I think I can judge fairly. I have seen Wonderful Town 4 times. Every time as been way more exciting then the last time. I have not yet seen it with Brooke Shields. If anyone can tell me about it, I would love to go, but my expectations are really high for her. Its not easy to replace Donna Murphy.
Wow.. Glad you liked it.. I have to say that I stongly disagree, however.

i respect your opinion. would you mind telling me what you didn't like about it?
i have not seen wicked yet, which is your favorite right? i really really really want to though. i've heard its amazing.
I have seen Wonderful Town 9 times with Linda, Donna, and Brooke(I out them in that order for a reason) and love it. They all bring/brought something to the part that was nice. The show with Brooke is a very diffenrent show show IMO than it was when I first saw it, which was only in June. There have been many cast changes both the obvious and in the ensemble that have just changed the show in their own ways. One positive change now that Brooke is in is that I really believed Bob and Ruth's relationship. I've been a Gregg Edelman fan since I saw the show and have put up with all sorts of crap because of it but I feel that his performance is better now. Anyway there is my rant, I'm glad that you are a fan.

I saw Wonderful Town once with Linda Mugleston, I just think that Linda Mugleston is physically different and the way she played the character it seemed more like Eileen's mother. She did do a very good job, but to me there is just something about Donna Murphy, she doesnt have to ask for laughs, they seem to come naturally. I am definitely going to see it with Brooke Shields; it's interesting what you said about liking the show better with Gregg Edelman and Brooke Shields falling in love. I really like Gregg Edelman and I really liked him with Donna Murphy, but I guess I'll just have to see when I go to see Wonderful Town again.
Thank you for commenting. If you're a Gregg Edelman fan, did you go to see The Stephen Sondheim Review? I went and really enjoyed it, although I didn't know most of the songs, it was still a lot of fun.

Yes, I went to Opening Doors and really enjoyed. It was nice to see him doing something different as I have only seen him in Wonderful Town.
Just a side note... If you like both Gregg Edelman and Donna Murphy (as do I), have you seen the DVD of "Passion"? He played her cousin there. Also- he played her love interest on the TV show "Hack" a few years ago. They're great together! :)
I love Wonderful Town as well. Going to see Brooke on Saturday.

Yes I have seen the "Passion" DVD, and I've watched it with the commentary and all. lol. I was only 5 when Passion was on broadway, so I didn't get to see it. But the Benefit Concert was amazing! I cried! lol.
Oh and I didn't get to see any of Hack. I tried to order it online, but I don't think it lasted through a season so they don't have it on Amazon or anything. I'm really upset about that. Do you know where I can find it, if I can?
I like Donna Murphy's husband, and I think that they are a good couple from what I have seen, but I think that Donna Murphy and Gregg Edelman would be a good couple lol.

Musicgal04,
Opening Doors was really really good. I loved the song about being married with Gregg Edelman and that blonde woman, I feel bad that I'm blanking on her name. I have spoken Gregg Edelman after Wonderful Town and he is soo nice. You've probably spoken to him before. I love how its so easy to talk to people after their performance. Although it may be annoying to them at times, I'm happy that I get to tell them that I really enjoy what they are doing.
I've meet Donna Murphy several times, not that she would remember me, but I'm happy that I got to tell her how much I loved Wonderful Town. lol.
Oh - also, When I went to see the Passion Benefit Concert, the red haired woman named Kate (I don't know her last name) was there (she was in the Opening Doors thing), and I talked to her as well. She was also very nice and gracious.
I'm sorry if I'm boring you with all this. I just thought it might be interesting. I mean isn't this what the message board is for? I don't know I've never joined one of these things before.

Gregg is really great to talk to after shows. After seeing it 9 times now he remembers me and actually will have a conversation with me about how I'm doing, it's kinda weird, but cool.
The song in Opening Doors that you are talking about is "The Little Things You Do Together" from Company with a snippit(sp) of "Everybody's Got The Right.." from Assassins which was a funny touch. I think the women who he sang it with was originally going to be Carolee Carmello, his wife, but I assume she got busy with Mamma Mia, thus couldn't do the show. I'm glad you had a chance to go t the Passion benefit, I need to see the DVD because I am Gregg Edelman spaz and want to see him in whatever I can. Seriously, I'm buying Spiderman 2 not only because I love it, but because he is in it for about two minutes. I'm a bit crazy, but its ok, even he says so, but seems to think its ok too.

Yes, I remember hearing that Carolee Carmillo was going to do the show too, but then she signed on to do Mamma Mia.
Greg Edelman is very nice. I don't think I have met him enough times to have him remember me. Thats really cool though, that he remembers me. My mom and I always joke about how we can't go to see anything with Donna Murphy in it again because she'll recognize us and be scared of us. But we're not as fanatical as some people.
After the Passion Benefit Concert, I admitted to Donna Murphy that I had seen Wonderful Town 4 times and she said not to worry about it, because there were some women there who had seen it like 45 times. This is just me, but that seems just a little weird. I mean, it's great for them, but its odd to me that they would admit that.
You don't have to answer, but do you mind if I ask how old you are? If you don't want to tell me, thats fine. I don't know how private people are with their age, and information like that.
You should definitely get the Passion dvd. You can order it on Amazon or something. You'll really enjoy it, if you haven't already seen it.
Also, did you see Assassins? I saw it and liked it very much.

what did you think?! did you see it with donna murphy too?
I saw the show with the entire original cast in June and I LOVED it. I was a big fan of Donna's before seeing the show from the Passion DVD (which originally I got because of my massive obsession with Marin Mazzie), so obviously the fact she was headlinging it made me want to see it. I just feel in love with the show. I saw Spiderman 2 only becuase she was in it and was delightfully surprised to see Gregg in it. I love him too!!!!!!!! And same thing, was a fan from Passion. I got to meet Donna after the show and she was just absolutley fabulous. As classy as she comes off in everything she does, and just so incredibly sweet. I'm so glad there is a strong group of us who love this show.
P.S. belle I am so jealous you got to go the Passion benefit concert.
Belle I'm jealous you got to go to the PASSION concert as wel...it's my absolute favorite show!
I have also seen Wonderful Town 4 times, and I've told Donna Murphy about it as well. Me being from Israel and all, she thought it was very impressive. LOL But, I have to be honest with you- if I lived in NYC, I would have gone many, many more times...So I don't think 45 is that weird.
As for seeing movies..I went to see Spiderman 2 just to see Donna Murphy, so I guess I'm a little weird, too. :)
I've serached for HACK as well, with no luck unfortunately. I did find some cool screen grabs from it- I'll post one.

Gregg Edelman and Donna Murphy in "Hack" (I'll add more pics in my fan pictures)
P.S. I agree about the niceness issue- both stars were amazingly gracious to me every time I spoke with them, especially Donna Murphy. She is an absolute sweetheart.

Ok..I have seen Wonderful Town 61 times with Donna..and yes Donna knows. She thought it was great. I got to attend the Passion concert too.....Donna is so natural in any role she plays. And that show is so emotional and touching. Had me crying!

marincrazy11,
the passion concert was amazing! i'm only 15 and couldn't pay that much by myself so i was sooo happy when my mom offered.
i saw spiderman 2 because i saw the first one, but having Donna Murphy and Gregg Edelman in it is great too.
i used to be obsessed with Marin Mazzie. When I was like 11, I saw Kiss Me Kate and i loved it. I still enjoy marin mazzie's work, i just haven't followed it.

Bwaylover,
Wow, thats amazing that you live in Irasael. When friend went their over the summer and loved it.
To me, seeing it 4 times was a lot. I wish that I could have seen it maybe twice more but I always want to talk to the cast afterwards, and I just feel weird going too often. Thats just me. It's great for people who got to see it more than I did. Its an amazing show!
thanks for putting that picture there. they look so good together.
