Is there any official way to see a workshop of a show in New York or are they pretty much closed to the public? I know we have talked about it before, but I cannot find it.

I'm pretty sure there's no way in unless you're an insider- that's the idea of workshops in the first place. They're supposed to be places to develop shows out of the public eye.

Some workshops are open to the public but that's usually specified before the actually event takes place.

It really depends on the show. For example ATOTC gave away about 100 tickets to each of the readings, Little women (not the one on broadway)'s reading was open to the public. It depends on the writers/producers/creative team.

Scott Alan recently had an open PIECE workshop and a closed one as well. Depends on what the producers what, I believe.
